El Midi D´ossau no es el monte más alto de los Pirineos (no llega a 3000m), ni el más difícil, seguramente ni siquiera el más bonito, pero para mí es el más emblemático, el más reconocible desde cualquier punto de la cordillera, allí, en el medio de todo, solitario, con su silueta inconfundible... Esta foto la saqué hace ya muchos años, en la subida a los ibones de Anayet por el valle de Tena.

The Dents du Midi and Caux .No. 6960.
The Dents du Midi (French: "teeth of noon")[3] are a multi-summited mountain situated in the Chablais Alps in the Swiss canton of Valais. They are composed of seven distinct summits and reach a height of 3257 metres (10,686 feet). Highest mountain between Lake Geneva and the Mont Blanc Massif, they dominate the Val-d'Illiez and the Rhône Valley, from Martigny down to the lake. Together with the slightly lower Tour Sallière, they form a cirque around the Lac de Salanfe, an artificial reservoir. Geologically it makes up a part of the massif Haut-Giffre.
Les dents du Midi sont un chaînon montagneux de trois kilomètres de long, situé dans le Chablais valaisan, dans le canton du Valais en Suisse. Dominant le val d'Illiez et la vallée du Rhône, au sud, elles font face au lac de Salanfe, une retenue artificielle, et font partie de l'ensemble géologique du massif du Giffre.
Die Dents du Midi bilden eine Bergkette in den Savoyer Voralpen (Westalpen), nordwestlich von Martigny im Kanton Wallis, Schweiz. Die 2 km lange Bergkette umfasst sieben etwa gleich hohe Felsgipfel, nämlich von West nach Ost die Haute Cime (mit 3'258 m ü. M. die höchste Erhebung), Doigt de Salanfe (3'210 m ü. M.), Doigt de Champéry (3'200 m ü. M.), Dent Jaune (3'186 m ü. M.), Eperon (3'114 m ü. M.), Cathédrale (3'160 m ü. M.) und Cime de l'Est (3'178 m ü. M.).

The Aiguille du Midi (3,842 m / 12,605 ft) is a mountain in the Mont Blanc massif within the French Alps. It is a very popular tourist destination and can be directly accessed by cable car from Chamonix. It receives half a million visits a year and puts visitors close to Mont Blanc.
The Aiguille summit contains a panoramic viewing platform, a café and a gift shop. Even in summer, temperatures in the open viewing areas can reach -10°C.
The name "Aiguille du Midi" translates literally as Needle of the Mid-day. The mountain lies south-east of Chamonix and, when seen from in front of the town's church, the sun passes over its summit around noon.
