King Midas was given the magical power of his Golden Touch by the Greek god Dionysus. Midas had helped Dionysus reunite with his foster father when the older satyr had gotten drunk and lost. Out of gratitude for this deed, Dionysus offered to give Midas anything he desired. Midas asked for the power to turn anything he touched to gold.

I was going to make this a guessing game, but decided I'd tell you what it is. It's a very small piece of copper wire mesh. I was pretty sure my Pentacon lens would create magic with it, and I think it did :)

Midas, in Greek and Roman legend, a king of Phrygia, known for his foolishness and greed. ... For his kind treatment of Silenus Midas was rewarded by Dionysus with a wish. The king wished that all he touched might turn to gold, but when his food became gold and he nearly starved to death as a result, he realized his error.

I must admit to not being to sure of this one but I have been persuaded to upload it. We had stopped so I could take a photo of the view in the other direction and as I was getting back in the car I quickly took this, as you can see the light on the tussock was gorgeous!!

Please try it ~Large on Black~

One of yesterday's spectacular sunset image's that I had captured here in San Antonio, Texas. As the the sun was at the right angle, the clouds turned to a wonderful golden color to give this Extraordinary sunset the "Midas Touch". Hope Y'all like it. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

From the Greek story in which King Midas was given the power to turn everything he touched into gold. The story of King Midas is a myth about the tragedy of avarice and narrates what happens when true happiness is not recognized. Midas was a man who wished that everything he touched would turn into gold. However, he had not thought that this wish was not actually a blessing, but a curse. His greed invites us to think and realize the consequences that may lead us to become slaves of our own desires. The phrase the Midas touch comes from this myth.

heartfelt thanks for inspiration dear
