Kirkland resident Rema Ramakrishnan paints an office wall during the Friday (Sept. 24, 2010, United Way of King County Day of Caring cleanup at Encompass, a children’s services organization headquartered in North Bend. Ramakrishnan was among more than 40 Microsoft staff who spent the day at Encompass clearing brush, installing a slide and tackling myriad other projects.
