A long awaited set of photos taken back in May when I’d visited Stafford. It was a lovely hot and sunny day and there were some great locations around the town for photographing buses. Although I’ve got the worst photo out the way to start off!

Select bus 39 is seen here in Stafford after running an 876 from Wolverhampton, one of their main routes with its longevity and vehicle requirements. It takes 1 hour 25 minutes in full during rush hour, and I wouldn’t fancy that with the heat and humidity that day!

Vehicle Details

Operator: Midland Classic

Fleet Details: 9

Registration: YJ66 APK

Vehicle Type: Optare Metrocity

Thought I’d save this to end off with!

Excluding the metrocity second from last, all these vehicles are from the 2000’s and includes probably one of the best bus varieties out there from the era!

One thing to note with the Omnidekkas, you can see their extra length with them being parked slightly further forward than the ALX400, and they also go back further on the rear axle.

Another thing to note, as I’ve previously mentioned, the Commander isn’t part of the bus link fleet and is privately owned.

Lastly, I’d like to thank the bus link team for allowing me onto their premises and to capture their unique fleet of buses! Long may their ever growing presence continue…
