NRLM & NRLP stakeholder workshop on impact evaluation methodologies organised by Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India and 3ie

31 марта 2022, Второе заседание Научно-методического совета по реставрации Лавры / 31 March 2022, The second meeting of the Scientific and Methodological Council for the Restoration of the Lavra

My current work is inspired by roman architecture and Greek methodology. I am to explore traditional practices with contemporary ones to create something new. I am to recreate ancient civilizations using a projector as my paint and a garment as my canvas making an installation piece. I have chosen this approach because it is innovative and it challenges me to think outside of my comfort zone. I am challenging traditional practices with new ones. For my research I have been visiting Old roman forts and castle ruins in my local area to gain a profound feel of the architecture and to collect data, which I can inspire my drawings.

I also have been experimenting with drawing, photographs and print to develop imagery for my projection. Followed by looking at artist like Isaac Julien who uses projectors in her work to get an idea of the space, scale, lighting and how they impact the audience engagement with the art. My final project aims to give my audience a time machine experience into the past through a contemporary vehicle. In a way I am challenging theories I have been learning in my lectures such as nostalgia and modernism.

I like the idea of layering traditional Leonardo Da Vinci and Michelangelo inspired drawings over contemporary surfaces to explore the juxtaposition also to create something more cutting edge. This is allowing me to broaden my possibilities and a good way to pushing the envelop. Screen print and developing photograms are new practices I have recently fallen in love with which has given my drawings more depth and richness of quality and this has opened a window in my mind to new alternatives such as printing onto cushion, garments etc.

"Stefan, the methodology teacher is amazing. He has years of experience teaching English and his classes are not only extremely informative, well taught but also contain invaluable teaching and cultural insights and are also very entertaining." -Doug

The methodology commonly referred to as design thinking is a proven and repeatable problem-solving protocol that any business can employ to achieve great results. Focusing on market research and validation, IBM’s Eliane Tozman designed a program to help early-stage start-ups and ideators gain a better understanding of their consumers, identify pain points, and recognize potential pivots.

engineering design methodology project. converting electrical pump to human power pump. had to research about pumps and the various kinds of pumps and calculate power input to water pumped output.. and other calculations. learned about house of quality analysis, function component analysis, function shift analysis.. and more ask me for more details if you want...

Benny Okarda of CIFOR introduced AIMAC (AI-powered Tool for Mangrovebased

Adaptation to Climate Change), a digital platform developed to support

the monitoring and evaluation of mangrove-based Ecosystem-based

Adaptation (EbA) efforts.

Through a live demonstration, participants explored how artificial intelligence

can help process information more efficiently, identify patterns, and support

the assessment of adaptation actions across diverse landscapes.

Yet one message stood out clearly: technology alone is not enough. The

effectiveness of AI depends on the quality of the data it receives and the

validation provided by local communities, practitioners, and stakeholders on

the ground.

In climate adaptation, the future lies not in choosing between artificial

intelligence and human knowledge, but in bringing the two together.

For my 3D project I had been struggling with finding the best display method. I think what I'm going to do is display the text from the book rather than the book itself. The only issue is that this will have to remain 3D so I am thinking of maybe posting the words on a bulletin board in the school of art. With the bulletin board included I think it may be considered 3 dimensions but I'm not really sure and will have to work with this idea.

Activity Based Learning (ABL) methodology Workshop

The ADAPT Public Consultation Workshop serves as a platform for dialogue

among diverse stakeholders to refine the monitoring and evaluation framework

for mangrove-based ecosystem adaptation to climate change.

Through the exchange of knowledge, field experiences, and stakeholder

perspectives, the workshop aims to strengthen adaptation practices that are

measurable, participatory, and evidence-based.

As climate challenges continue to grow in complexity, resilience is built not only

through action on the ground, but also through our ability to understand,

assess, and learn from the impacts of those actions.

The methodology can be use for any kind of business, I work in the movie industry and we can adapt this to our industry. Today I want to talk about the company that we are going to work with in this semester. For our project we are going to work with AASneakerSpa. Right now I'm very excited about working with this startup. In our first steps of research we could see a lot of potential and big areas of improvement. This business focus in cleaning sneakers and shoes in general. In the photo that I show is part of the physical business as you can see it has some clean sneakers but the organization is very precarious.

For my 3D project, I decided against using a billboard or bulletin board to display lines from the novel, The Glass Castle. Instead, I am sticking with keeping the form of the book, as it makes it more interactive and gives the opportunity to display more lines from the book.

While Wolfram promotes simple programs as a scientific discipline, he also insists that its methodology will revolutionize essentially every field of science. The basis for his claim is that the study of simple programs is the most minimal possible form of science, which is equally grounded in both abstraction and empirical experimentation. Every aspect of the methodology advocated in NKS is optimized to make experimentation as direct, easy, and meaningful as possible — while maximizing the chances that the experiment will do something unexpected. Just as NKS allows computational mechanisms to be studied in their cleanest forms, Wolfram believes the process of doing NKS captures the essence of the process of doing science — and allows that process's strengths and shortcomings to be directly revealed.

Wolfram believes that the computational realities of the universe make science hard for fundamental reasons. But he also argues that by understanding the importance of these realities, we can learn to leverage them in our favor. For instance, instead of reverse engineering our theories from observation, we can simply enumerate systems and then try to match them to the behaviors we observe. A major theme of NKS style research is investigating the structure of the possibility space. Wolfram feels that science is far too ad hoc, in part because the models used are too complicated and/or unnecessarily organized around the limited primitives of traditional mathematics. Wolfram advocates using models whose variations are enumerable and whose consequences are straightforward to compute and analyze.

Content strategy is content that works for your business. What does content strategy for your web site, and blog, involve? We have got it before: "Match Your Message to Your Market". How do we know whether an adaptation initiative is truly making communities

more resilient?

This question was at the center of the presentation by Prof. Herry Purnomo and

Nining Liswanti of CIFOR, who introduced a framework for monitoring and

evaluating mangrove-based Ecosystem-based Adaptation (EbA).

The framework recognizes that successful adaptation is not measured solely by

the number of trees planted or hectares restored, but by broader outcomes:

healthier ecosystems, reduced climate vulnerability, stronger institutions, and

more resilient coastal livelihoods.

By linking science, local realities, and measurable indicators, the framework

aims to support more effective, transparent, and evidence-based climate

adaptation efforts in Indonesia and beyond.
