An example of one of my life drawings. I mostly work very methodically, using a ruler, attempting to collate exact measurements. My drawings are inspired by the work of Euan Uglow as well as William Coldstream.

PRESIDIO OF MONTEREY, Calif. -- It was a double Cinderella story for the Presidio of Monterey volleyball championship Jan. 30 and the 229th Military Intelligence Battalion. Fourth-seeded Company D took on the loser's bracket entry, second-seeded Company A, that was a player short for the championship. The Black Sheep methodically won in the required two matches to become champs over Co. D, 25-12, 19-25, 15-6 and 24-13, 10-25, 15-13.

First of all, sorry for the Photobomb of shots today. Went on a Photowalk with the Des Moines Flickr group on Saturday at the Farmer's Market. Even though I've been shooting there the last few weekends, I'm still finding new and interesting shots. Out of all that I posted, I liked this one the best. This lady was hard at work preparing baskets of produce. She worked calmly and methodically and had a a great seat in the shade.

I'm always delighted to try capturing feeding behavior in birds. I watched this Carolina Chickadee methodically checking all the dead leaves. Very lucky when it found this little egg sac which looks like it may have little spiderlings? Made for a very happy Chickadee!

This represents just a small portion of the shoes this vintage store in Berlin owned. Everything in this store was methodically and precisely arranged. I suspect the employees there must either be total neat freaks or have a lot of time on their hands. It was interesting to see what sorts of vintage threads Germans were into. There were a lot of leather jackets, shoes/boots and track jackets.

A film biography of Formula 1 champion driver Niki Lauda and the 1976 crash that almost claimed his life. Mere weeks after the accident, he got behind the wheel to challenge his rival, James Hunt.

Directed by Ron Howard, he and the cars from that fateful season descended upon the race track at Snetterton to recreate Fuji 1976, these are a few snapshots from that day - 1/5/2012.

Set against the sexy, glamorous golden age of Formula 1 racing in 1976. Based on the true story of a great sporting rivalry between handsome English playboy James Hunt (Chris Hemsworth), and his methodical, brilliant opponent Niki Lauda, (Daniel Bruhl). The story follows their distinctly different personal styles on and off the track, their loves and the astonishing season in which both drivers were willing to risk everything to become world champion in a sport with no margin for error: if you make a mistake, you die.

Although many of the buildings within this complex were not constructed until the 1950s, all adhere to the layout and design concepts initiated in 1946. The district's period of significance extends from Jenkins' purchase in 1946 until the completion of major construction in 1956. Charles Byron and Jeanne Jenkins and Gloria Jenkins Wardell purchased the Highlands site in 1946, From this date until 1956, they methodically added "one or two cabins a year" in a U-shaped pattern anchored by a large log/board-andbatten lodge. Black Knights on Patrol

The men and women of Task Force 3-66 are actively patrolling western Paktika province, taking the fight to the insurgents. Since assuming responsibility for the area, the Black Knights have been methodically clearing district after district to allow the provincial government to provide security and development. Western Paktika is essentially a rest stop for insurgents linked to Sirajuddin Haqqani traveling from Pakistan and continuing west. The heat, elevated terrain, and harsh landscape of Paktika province are unforgiving allies of these enemies of Afghanistan. With limited road networks the primary mode of travel here is walking. The relentless training planned and executed by the leaders of Task Force 3-66 back in Germany is now paying off.

The American Kestrel seen in this series of photos depicting the dining process—a Meadow Vole, in this case—was so neat to witness. This particular tree is where a young family of them resides, and on this day, as we were walking the path along the vast marshland area, we heard this non-stop cacophony of screeches revealing some state of commotion. Apparently, the male had just returned with a meal (a whole Meadow Vole), but another third Kestrel was nearby. We did not believe it to be the recent newborn, from only several weeks back, so figured that it might have been a stranger. Once that was gone, the female proceeded to dine away. We wanted to see if we could, at least, capture some shots of it eating, rather than just have the memory of seeing it through the binoculars. So, slowly, and ever so carefully, we walked toward the tree with deliberate step by step, occasionally stopping to be certain that we were not alarming it. The Kestrel did notice the approaching human presence, but seemed not to be threatened, given our calm disposition. Once we felt close enough to take a series of photos as it ripped into the body and pried out the innards, we maintained the position and managed to shoot a successful series that clearly represented the methodical means of eating the rodent. We continued to observe for about 15 minutes or so, before finally leaving the scene. It was obvious that this dining on a fat rodent was not a quick process, for at the time or our departure, there was still a great amount of the prey left to eat. By the way, the head was already missing when we first secured the initial photos.

The late, Doris Duke, had left a wonderful legacy in converting her magnificent estate into a Natural Wildlife Preserve for the public’s education and enjoyment. The paths throughout the estate offer such splendid scenery. One is forever exploring, always seeing something subtly beautiful. There are always pleasant surprises, from the general scenery to the world of birds and other wildlife, including tiny insects and flowers that are quite enjoyable to observe and study. The bucolic nature of the preserve is so relaxing—akin to meditating while experiencing the landscape. The beauty of visiting Duke Farms is that so many incredible views are there simply by absorbing the surroundings.

Besides the wonderful diversity of nature’s jewels, Doris Duke has left a part of her legacy through her passion for art—well situated throughout the preserve is a collection of glorious sculptures and fabulous examples of supreme stonework and design in the bridges, old ruins of enormous barns and stables, and a variety of other structures. The old Hay Barn ruin with its fabulous sculpture garden is truly a favorite of ours, for each and every statue seems to possess a spirit and sense of life. The landscape and backdrop can alter the mood, accordingly, depending on the time of day and seasonal changes in particular. So, spotting new and fascinating wildlife (both animals and plants) and art never ceases to add to the experience.

Theyyam, also known as Kaliyattom, is a ritualistic folk dance of north Kerala (India), dating back to centuries. It flourished in North Kerala and assumed the characteristics of a socio-religious ceremony.

The root of the art form is in divine and hero worship. The sacred dance is methodically carried out to ensure safety and well being of the families and the community.

Villages were duty bound to organise it to propitiate the gods and goddesses and the spirits of departed heroes. Hence, it was also called Thirayattom, which means dance of the village or village dance.

The ritual used to be performed at the sacred groves, shrines that were common property of the villages. Performances were conducted also before other places of worship and courtyards of influential families. The season for the performance is between December and May (summer).

Each manifestation of Thirayattom is known as a kolam, which means a shape or form. They represent different aspects of various manifestations of goddess kali or other heroes and heroines. Many kolam of heroes and heroines have development over the years.

Each Kolam will have a different dress, hood and ornaments that bring forth their heroic aspects. Elaborately furnished crowns, head dress, breast places, garlands, bangles and arm ornaments and garments are used for this purpose. The make up of some kolams would take hours to complete.

The dance is performed at night in the light of cloth and leaf torches (theevetties, panthoms and chootes). The red high contrast light emphasises the colours of attire and adds to the aura of the kolams.

The appearance of the kolam will be preceded by a song about the strength and holy aspects of the kolam to the accompaniment of percussion instruments, chenda and elathalam.

The kolam performs various types dancing and it is believed that the spirit of the god, goddess, hero or heroine migrates into the person. The dance may take slow or fast pace depending upon his character. Sometimes even weapons are used.

Sir Charles Leonard Woolley (17 April 1880 – 20 February 1960) was a British archaeologist best known for his excavations at Ur in Mesopotamia. He is recognized as one of the first "modern" archaeologists who excavated in a methodical way, keeping careful records, and using them to reconstruct ancient life and history. Woolley was knighted in 1935 for his contributions to the discipline of archaeology. He married the British archaeologist Katharine Woolley.

The Reverend Samuel Wesley became Anglican rector of Epworth in 1695, and also nearby of Wroot in 1722. Here his wife, Susanna, bore him at least 19 children, although only seven daughters and three sons - Samuel Jr, John and Charles - survived to adulthood. Susanna educated all her children diligently and instilled in them the methodical approach that would later characterise her sons' approach to religion.

General Warren (U.S.M.A. ’50) was Chief Engineer of the Army of the Potomac at the Battle of Gettysburg. His bronze statue stands atop the boulder that he is said to have stood on during the battle. A bronze tablet is set into the side of the boulder, and “Warren” is carved into the stone.

As Longstreet’s attack developed on July 2nd Warren reached this point and discovered Little Round Top was unoccupied except for a small Signal Corps detachment. Recognizing the importance of the position and on his own authority he found Vincent’s and Weed’s brigades and diverted them to what became the desperate but successful defense of Little Round Top.

Warren was wounded on Little Round Top, nicked in the throat, but he stayed on the field and attended Meade’s council of war that night in the Leister farmhouse.

After Gettysburg Warren was given command of the 5th Corps, which he led through the bloody Overland Campaign and through the Siege of Petersburg. At the Battle of Five Forks he was relieved of command by General Sheridan, whose “smash ’em up” command style was the opposite of Warren’s methodical engineer personality. Warren spent the rest of his life trying to clear his name and insisted upon being buried in civilian clothes and without military honors.

At 6:13AM on September 23, 2024 the Los Angeles City Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire in the 2000 block of S Bundy Drive.

Firefighters arrived to find a two story, vacant commercial building with smoke showing.

Firefighters initiated a defensive operation against the boarded up structure, the site of a previous burn. Well coordinated and methodical efforts continued for the next 18 hours to fully extinguish deeply entrenched pockets of stubborn flames throughout the vacant and boarded 53,500 square foot two-story commercial building. The building sustained severe structural damage which required the careful approach to safely extinguish stubborn flames deep within the tons of smoldering debris. LAFD heavy mechanized equipment (i.e. bulldozers, excavators, etc.) were utilized for strategic demolition and physical hazard abatement. No injuries were reported during the 18 hour extended operation. Once LAFD operations were complete, the building was turned over to Department of Building & Safety.

Whenever I find myself growing grim about the mouth; whenever it is a damp, drizzly November in my soul; whenever I find myself involuntarily pausing before coffin warehouses, and bringing up the rear of every funeral I meet; and especially whenever my hypos get such an upper hand of me, that it requires a strong moral principle to prevent me from deliberately stepping into the street, and methodically knocking people's hats off--then, I account it high time to get to sea as soon as I can.

March.

Walking daily and without hesitation, but when i walk fast i get a binding sort of arch pain, not supposed to be "normal" yet so i guess i should power through it. Uneven ground is my nemesis, also trying to move quickly to adjust balance or shift weight; not gonna happen, i have to move methodically. Spots are from heat rash and hives; not having much hot swelling lately, but when i do it's big and fast and itchy as fuck.

I've completed my rounds of the outdoor lot and I'm ready to enter the parking garage; this is precisely where I want to be at 9 AM.

Most people wander the Flea methodically, starting from the entrance. By just completing the outdoor section of the Flea before the Huddled Masses enter, I can still maintain my headstart as I walk through the indoor tables.

What personality characteristics define you as a team player? When you examine these thoughts, you will become more of a team player and leader.

Try to look at each new day as being better than the previous one. Always look for things to improve. Try your hardest to achieve something different today than what you achieved yesterday.

Excessive alcohol use can lead to liver, kidney and circulatory disorders. Are you a smoker or do you have any other harmful habits? The Old Market in the old town of Salzburg was laid out methodically in the early Middle Ages (13th century) as a trading center.

History

After the marketplace was moved from Waag square to Old Market, once joined the Dairy market and Herb market, the Beet and Cabbage market and the Potter market. It now consists of stately rows of town houses whose core mostly goes back to the Middle Ages, but which, in many cases, are shaped early modern.

Floriani fountain

Main article: Florianibrunnen

In the middle of the Old Market today stands the Market fountain which, as founded on documents, was erected here instead of an old draw well in 1488 as for the first time it was possible to guide water from the mountain Gersberg over the Town bridge to the Old Market.

Buildings at Old Market

Since the late 16th century, also the old prince-archbishopric Court farmacy is located at Old Market. In front of the Old Residence there are the traditional Café Tomaselli and Café/Cake shop Fürst, whose founder creating the Mozart ball. A former town house which now houses the headquarters of the bank Salzburger Sparkasse due to several reconstructions got a facade a bit too fancy for this place. In addition to the Café Tomaselli is located on Old Market 10a also the smallest house in the city of Salzburg.

Name

Between 1873 and 1927 the place was known as Ludwig-Viktor square, after the youngest brother of Emperor Franz Joseph I., Archduke Ludwig Viktor (* 1842, † 1919), who lived from 1861 in Schloss Klessheim.

Other

A nightly Würstlstand (sausage stand) at Old Market is a popular meeting place at a late hour for night owls and visitors of evening events in the old town.

Name

I found videos on YouTube which teach how to clone mushrooms and grow mycelium so I spent last summer, voluntarily as I am a term-time only member of staff, working in the mycology labs on a small project to learn this. A friend of mine and colleague who has worked in microbiology for many years could not believe this was at all possible and so joined me on the summer project and was very helpful to teach me the importance of keeping to a routine, being methodical in your way of work, otherwise it certainly will not work.

Sint Bavokerk in Haarlem, the Netherlands. It became the main church of Haarlem in the 1400's, and its organ is one of the great Organs of the world. When the organ was completed in 1738, it was the largest organ in the world. Famous composers like Mendelssohn, Handel, andMozart played on the Haarlem organ. Herman_Melville had this to say about it in Moby Dick:

"Seeing all these colonnades of bone so methodically ranged about, would you not think you were inside of the great Haarlem organ, and gazing upon its thousand pipes?"

"Kopaka is cool, calculating and methodical in his actions. His long ice blade cuts and melts ice; one skillful swipe can cause avalanches or instantly freeze anything it touches. It is believed that Kopaka brings the winters, and the long cold nights...and it is known that his power strikes a balance against the fiery presence of Tahu."

I've been trying to figure this guy out for a while, and I have to say that I am pleased with the final result. Now I just have to get the parts to build the others.

Gifted Bodies personal training has changed my life. After years of the same tedious methodical routine, I was at a stand still to a point in my workout routine that was the same, day in and day out. I am a creature of habit and I just stuck to the same exercises, until one day I a trainer from Gifted Bodies asked me “How can you expect your body to change by doing the same thing?” It got me thinking see what else they had to offer. Well, I couldn’t have made a greater decision.

Every bootcamp is now is a surprise. I go in and have no idea what I will be doing. Every exercise is a new page, every variation a new challenge. I am so happy every time I go in and happier (but exhausted) every time I get out, just knowing I targeted muscles I had never worked before. It is such a great feeling knowing that what I am doing is working. I have already received compliments on how toned I am getting. What a superb ego-booster!!!

I feel sexier, I feel stronger, I feel GIFTED! I AM GIFTED!

Niyata in Sanskrit is the root of nyata in Bahasa Indonesia, carries the meaning of being real, distinct, or true.

TEDxJakarta 12: Niyata evolves around the celebration of order, abides to the notion that even nature most often works in alluring patterns, precipitated by the sum of many tiny-yet-meaningful and methodical inflections.

Methodical teens at the Avondale Regional Branch Library's February Pizza &... program gather evidence at the crime scene of a deadly Valentine's date.

Dr. Beth Gardner, professor from the Justice Sciences program at UAB, created a “Valentine’s Date Gone Wrong” crime scene and invited the “detectives” in to gather and analyze evidence in a quest to identify the murderer. The murder scene was replete with a victim (one of Gardner's students) and all the trappings of a romantic dinner gone horribly wrong. The participants were outfitted with an evidence kit that included tools for collecting and preserving fingerprints, footprints, DNA, and other physical evidence from the crime scene. With the evidence gathered and clues from the police report, the students were able to identify the “killer.”
