Great guys, down to get dirty and trespass.
A pretty interesting experience for this shoot - we went to some town called Deveaux, it's right near Niagara Falls, New York and Jackson knew of an old factory, so we slipped all my gear through the fence, hopped it, and started shooting. The shooting went good for the first few spots, until we heard something slam into the glass wall behind us. So we moved on to a new spot, then we heard rustling like footsteps. By this point I was a nervous wreck worrying about my gear, who knows who was there and if they were trying to harm us. But we shot a little more, moved over to another spot and that's when I saw 2 people run across the building way in the distance, they looked to be young teenagers, like maybe 13 or 14. I think they were scared of us, because they ran into a loading dock thing and ducked down so we couldn't see them, haha. Ahh it was so weird!

Anfang Februar 2024 stand ein Ausflug nach Prag an. Grund hierfür war ein Konzert der Metalcore Band Architects im Forum Karlin. Nachdem wir vorher beim Sightseeing zufällig dem Sänger Sam Carter in die Arme gelaufen waren und ein paar Bilder mit ihm entstanden wurde mir von der Crew ein Fotopass für das abends anstehende Konzert angeboten. Da konnte ich natürlich nicht nein sagen - eine einmalige Gelegenheit.
Die schwierige Lichtsituation erforderte es die Grenzen der Kamera auszunutzen. Nachdem einige Bilder vor dem Wellenbrecher entstanden, ging es hoch auf die Galerie von der man das Konzert überblicken konnte.
Eine wahnsinnig tolle und vermutlich einmalige Gelegenheit für die ich der Band und der Crew der Architects unheimlich dankbar bin!
Mit einem dieser Bilder möchte ich euch an diesen phänomenalen Abend zumindest fotografisch teilhaben lassen.
Architects - Praha Forum Karlin 2024
A trip to Prague was planned at the beginning of February 2024. The reason for this was a concert by the metalcore band Architects in the Forum Karlin. After we happened to run into singer Sam Carter while sightseeing and took a few pictures with him, the crew offered me a photo pass for the upcoming concert that evening. Of course I couldn't say no - it was a unique opportunity.
The difficult lighting situation required us to exploit the limitations of the camera. After taking a few pictures in front of the barrier, we went up to the gallery from which you could overlook the concert.
An incredibly great and probably unique opportunity for which I am incredibly grateful to the band Architects and their crew!
With one of these pictures I would like to share with you this phenomenal evening, at least photographically.

In general, the songs lyrically are downright cryptic. “With Horses In Her Eyes She Struck Like A Wildcat” for instance seems to the best of my knowledge to be about a woman striking a cowboy down because he loves horses so much although I could really be missing the point badly on that one.

True musicianship in the band comes in the form of both guitarists who manage to provide an undoubtedly heavy experience while hot crossing it up a fair bit. Although nowhere in the technical league of said band, Love Like Electrocution perform flashy riffs mixed in with more atmospheric (not in the post rock sense, more in a wall of sound way) moments providing interesting textures and feelings as opposed to outright technicality, just the way it should be in my opinion. The rhythm section plays well taking the spotlight away from the guitars when need be, usually when creating a sense of calm before a heavier faster part. The bass doesn’t play too vital a part on first listen but with my bass player ears you can definitely pick up fills all over the place underplayed by the guitarists but creating an essential depth to the piece without which the mix would feel much thinner. The drums keep splashy on the hats a lot of the time thankfully not resorting to straight punk drumming and double kicks very often. Instrumentally the band mix it up a lot switching from poppier moments to straight out blast beating allowing the vocal interplay to overlap and bring the sound up a notch out of the mess of sound that is a lot of emo.
