Merida has one of the largest populations of ethnic mayans. It is also a large colonial Spanish Town. It is also a properous trading town and the capital of Yucatant. This leads to an exciting melange of customs. On Sunday there is communal dancing in which the whole town converges into the central Square (Zocalo). These pictures were shot on such a Sunday..
