We got up our first morning in Merida, Mexico and went on a bus tour.We'd just walked out of the hotel to wander around as the bus came down the street. Exhausted kids (we'd traveled almost 18 hours the day before) fell asleep on the bus but we'd gotten out and gotten oriented to the cit and got to see some great architecture.
The visit to CIDA observatory was the main reason for my excursion on the transandean highway. The observatory was at the time, the world's second highest operational observatory at 3600m, built during the oil boom of the sixties and seventies.
