"In 1928, Wilbur S. and Florence Badley gave the land on Cape Foulweather to the state of Oregon with provisions that the state not allow concessions on the property, the sale of merchandise or the erection of buildings on the land. The state was to maintain the viewpoint for the public."

"Cape Foulweather was discovered by Captain James Cook, the English explorer on March 7, 1778. The weather was particularly stormy on the day of his discovery (winds of 100 mph at the cape are not unusual). Captain Cook named the location Cape Foulweather, the first geographic location named on this voyage to the north Pacific coast."

I appreciate your taking a look, and for any comments, faves and suggestions. Thank you.

Shops in a street underpass. I wonder how they survive even though people are forced to use the underpass as deliberately there are no traffic lights on the street above.

The Disney Store's Brave Princess Merida Snowglobe was released on May 31, 2012 online. It is a 5'' diameter snowglobe containing the medieval Scottish Princess Merida at the ready with her bow and arrow. It lights up via 2 blue LEDs, and also has a blower that will keep the ''snow'' moving automatically. The ''snow'' consists of blue glitter and larger multi-colored reflective leaves. You have to shake the snowglobe every few minutes to get the larger pieces moving again. The It comes with 3 AAA batteries. Its cost is $49.50 US.

I bought it online on it's release date, and received it today (June 11). and photographed being deboxed and fully deboxed in full daylight. Then I switched on the lights and blower, and photographed it both in daylight and in the dark.

Miscellaneous Disney/Pixar Brave merchandise that I've bought recently. I received the books today (June 12, 2012) ; the dinnerware I received several days ago. Detailed description of the items:

Brave Mealtime Magic Collection - including plate, bowl, flatware, placemat and tumbler.

Brave Big Golden Book by Random House - retells the story of Brave with many full color illustrations. 22 pages. $9.99

''One Perfect Day'' Brave Book by Steve Purcell, one of the writers of Brave. Illustrated by Matt Nolte, character art director of Brave. Tells an original story of one day in the life of Princess Merida. $15.99.

The Art of Brave, by Jenny Lerew. The official guide to the making of Disney/Pixar Brave, with interviews of the makers of Brave, and richly illustrated with the concept art from the movie. $40.

BNSF 701 is the rear DPU pusing a long merchandise train, heading west on UP's Moffat Sub between Clay and Plainview (Colorado). Despite the May 20th date, a late spring snow covered the aground.

I stumbled upon an illustration I created well over seven years ago. This concept was one of many presented to a local radio station.
