Je suis resté des heures à discuter seul avec elle, la sourde et la causeuse, la brusque et la très tendre, la bavarde incompréhensible, l’insistante, l’obstinée, la toute-puissante qui se termine en friselis, la marchande d’horizons qui n’a rien à nous vendre et distribue son bleu à qui ouvre les yeux, celle qui ne cesse par vagues de nous rejoindre et nous rejoindre encore.....

Recent rain, high humidity, and morning sunshine combine to light the misty way on one of the public paths in the Mer Bleue (Blue Sea) Bog Conservation Area, Ottawa, ON.

The north sea coastline is not always warm and inviting - restless and stormy at times, and quiet and steely grey at other times. Being a rocky shoreline there is always activity as the waves reach the rocks and then (in the bays) the sand.
Charles Trenet wrote the lyrics on a train while travelling along the French mediterranean coast, in 1943 - but his words and melody have become a timeless song of praise to the sea everywhere!
