Blumenau was born of the courage of 17 immigrants (11 men, 04 women and 02 children), from 02 of September of 1850, led for the druggist Hermann Bruno Otto Blumenau, in a land with many obstacles and lack of resources. The pioneering families had been: Friedenreich, Sallenthien, Gaertner, Ritscher, Pfaffendorf, Geier, Riemer, Hoffmann, Kohlmann and Boettcher.
Today the city is known as City Garden Blumenau.
A coragem de 17 imigrantes (11 homens, 04 mulheres e 02 crianças) deu inicio a Blumenau, a partir de 02 de setembro de 1850 e tinham como meta maior criar uma comunidade capaz de se desenvolver com opulência, mesmo enfrentando obstáculos, como as enchentes e falta de recursos. O farmacêutico Hermann Bruno Otto Blumenau sabia que esse era o real desafio. As famílias pioneiras foram: Friedenreich, Sallenthien, Gaertner, Ritscher, Pfaffendorf, Geier, Riemer, Hoffmann, Kohlmann e Boettcher.
