Renards, nuisibles vraiment ?

Foxes, pests really?
Each year, more than 600,000 foxes are killed in France by the hunting lobby for no scientific reason ... How in the country of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry can we still persecute this fascinating animal? They are sentient beings. They are our roots. : If you take all the land mammals on this planet:
36% are human beings, 60% are animals raised to feed humanity, and only 4% are wild animals. 4% ... How have we been able to close our eyes to our madness? As a child I was already fascinated by animals. I never thought I could live all these years with them. I have undoubtedly lived the best years of my life admiring nature but especially realizing that we are not alone. The planet is not our due and animals are not at our service. Centuries of cultural, religious and philosophical heritage have made us believe it, but it is not so ... what if we found the child that lies dormant in us? They are neither our friends nor our enemies but they would just like us to leave them alone ...

Operation Bluestar
Amritsar (India) - In June 1984, the Golden Temple was the scene of a massacre, of which the Shiks were the victims. Occupied by a group of Sikh separatists under the orders of Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale, after the failure of negotiations with the Indian Federation, the attack was ordered by the Prime Minister of the time: Indira Gandhi.
At the end of the battle, 493 mutineers were killed, including 100 women and 75 children. To which must be added the 86 wounded who were not executed. The Indian military meanwhile, would have lost 334 men (86 dead and 248 wounded).
The Golden Temple, stained with the blood of the insurgents and desecrated by the boots of the assailants, is considered an irreparable insult by the Sikh extremists. This military attack called "Operation Blue Star", could not go unpunished according to the Sikhs. It will result on October 31 of the same year, the assassination of Indira Gandhi, killed by her two bodyguards of Sikh faith.
Today, Sikhs and Hindus have buried the hatchet and avoid evoking this tragic episode in their recent history. Reason prevailed in the face of resentment. In their sacred Temple, the Sikhs once again welcome all visitors, offering room and board to those who request it. Without distinction of social status or religion. A principle to ponder.

Meditation facing the sacred lake
Pushkar (India) - Since 1991, I have never failed to make a stopover for several days in pushkar, whenever I venture to the state of Rajasthan.
It’s a city frequented by busy tourists, but it’s also one of India’s most relaxing places. Here, there is a special atmosphere. Traffic is prohibited for vehicles on the shores of the sacred lake. A pedestrian area rare enough in India to be noticed, which contributes to the serenity of the place.
This photo was taken with my first digital camera. A Nikon D80. I hadn't yet realized that it was better to work in raw.
I had just taken a series of photos of a yogurt maker and was coming back through the pedestrian street parallel to the lake, when I saw this man who seemed to be meditating. Maybe he was praying?
When I approached my eye in the viewfinder fine-tuning my framing, the pigeons flew away. This flight brings a little life to a photo which could have been a little too static for my taste.

A bon entendeur ....

Blurry photo, failed photo, ugly photo for some! Not for me. I am here praising imperfection in photography, in response to a certain Christian G who is giving lessons to my friends, and to whom I remind that criticism is easy but art is free and subjective!
Man is by nature imperfect, so be it with photography.
I encourage him and you to read Benjamin Beaumont's excellent paper, from which I offer you a few phrases to ponder..
Photography is imperfection.
More than other arts, isn't imperfection what gives photography its value? Photography escapes the total control of its author: it involves a significant element of chance and requires dealing with the randomness of the shooting conditions. Imperfection is what makes us human: an unfinished or incomplete photograph is not necessarily to be discarded. If it conveys even the slightest emotion to the viewer, then it has already accomplished its mission.
"At the end of the day, a photograph will always be imperfect." It will never be perfectly right. But she will nevertheless be able to convey something."
"Perhaps we must admit that the practice of photography makes sense not in terms of the quality of the production but in terms of the process itself." Photographing is producing images: we will do as well as we can, within the limits of our abilities and with all the weaknesses of our humanity. But photographing is also, and perhaps above all, feeling alive. By observing the world around us, we feel gratitude for being able to witness it. We value the insignificance of things. We learn to recognize Beauty. And we seek to capture it thru the viewfinder. That's the power of photography: a way to make us more intensely aware of the simple happiness there is in living.
"So let's put an end to these grand speeches devoid of substance that we often read. Let's stop the smoky verbalizations and the moralizing and definitive theories. Let's rather live the photographic experience as close to the heart as possible, awakened to our most raw sensations. Let's have the humility of the beginner, the same as that of the baby awakening to the world, constantly surprised, thirsty for discovery and novelty.
And above all, don't change your glasses but your state of mind, Mr. Know-it-all who does better than others...
A little respect, gentleness, tolerance would do well on our Flickr.
What you see doesn't please you? Move on to the next one and refrain from bothering your neighbor.
We can also say things to each other nicely, it doesn't cost anything. Personally, when I don't like something, I don't comment, I just move on. Or, I might point out a small spot on the lens or a slightly tilted horizon, without questioning the quality or the intention of the photo.
And it's not necessarily hypocritical to tell him that we like his photo or his work.
A word to the wise....

To the one who dreams of a chimera Imperial Russia, fantasy of a mediocre coward and with a weak memory, please come to meditate on the remains of another murderous madness populating our coasts of the North Sea. This bunker was built in 1944 by workers forcibly conscripted in Denmark and never served.
The property began as a two-story, 12-room adobe boarding house called the "Glenwood Cottage" built by civil engineer Christopher Columbus Miller in 1876. In 1902, Miller's son Frank changed the name to the "Mission Inn" and started building obsessively, in a wild variety of shapes, until he died in 1935.
Miller's vision for the eclectic structure was drawn from many historical design periods, revivals, influences, and styles. Some are Spanish Gothic architecture, Mission Revival Style architecture, Moorish Revival architecture, Spanish Colonial style architecture, Spanish Colonial Revival Style architecture, Renaissance Revival architecture, and Mediterranean Revival Style architecture. With one section over another, addition upon addition, the result is an enormously complicated and intricately built structure, comparable to the Winchester House.

FR : “Wo viel Licht ist, ist starker Schatten" (Goethe)
EN : "There is a strong shadow where there is much light" (Goethe)
What this photo means (a posteriori, because there is no time to philosophize before shooting):
"To be able to see your own shadow, you must first get out of your own darkness"
Meditate this personal physico-philosophical thought, vicious as a Chinese proverb, because secret of wisdom!
Moreover, and on an exclusively photographic level, to be also applied to the violent and uncompromising self-criticism that everybody must practice on his own photos... before posting them worldwide 😎
As of the 2010 Census, Riverside had a population of 303,871. Riverside was founded in the early 1870s. It is the birthplace of the California citrus industry and home of the Mission Inn, the largest Mission Revival Style building in the United States. It is also home to the Riverside National Cemetery.
The Mission Inn Museum can be found on the southwest corner of the Mission Inn. A small museum run by Friends of the Inn that accepts donations as well as offers guided tours for a small fee, this is a wonderful place to learn about the Inn. It's also a great little gift shop. From the requisite pencil and pens to keychains and art books to stepping stones to so much more.
It's disappointing that they don't allow photography inside the Museum, but you can buy postcards to help make up for that lack.

The tour is just over an hour, and takes you behind the scenes of the Inn, explaining the beginnings and history of the Inn. It includes insights such as Frank Miller's love for bells and missions; how the Inn was remodeled in the 60s (and a dome was uncovered!); and many other wonderful "secrets". 175

A méditer.
A little help my friend?
Madagascar - Getting on the wagons of the Fianarantsoa-Manakara train is sporty. Especially if one is responsible for multiple packages.
Some carry a good hundred kilos with them. Of what? I don't know. But what I'm sure is that it's heavy.
Most of the time, the goods are in bags or crates that are carried on men's backs. But what I particularly appreciated about the Malagasy people is their innate sense of solidarity. There is always someone to help his compatriot, even if he does not know him; like in this photo. To meditate.
