Going through a process of adjusting medications for heart related issues. Keeps me from getting out and shooting. Sometimes I think the cure is worse than the illness : )

Male Wood Duck
The Wood Duck is one of the most stunningly pretty of all waterfowl. Males are iridescent chestnut and green, with ornate patterns on nearly every feather; the elegant females have a distinctive profile and delicate white pattern around the eye.
These birds live in wooded swamps, where they nest in holes in trees or in nest boxes put up around lake margins. They are one of the few duck species equipped with strong claws that can grip bark and perch on branches.
Wood Ducks pair up in January, and most birds arriving at the breeding grounds in the spring are already paired. The Wood Duck is the only North American duck that regularly produces two broods in one year.
The Wood Duck nests in trees near water, sometimes directly over water, but other times over a mile away. After hatching, the ducklings jump down from the nest tree and make their way to water.
The mother calls them to her but does not help them in any way. The ducklings may jump from heights of over 50 feet without injury.
The oldest recorded Wood Duck was a male and 22 years. He had been banded in Oregon and was found in California.

That busted hand looks painful, but a well-pulled pint will take the edge off. Seen in central Galway, Ireland.
For the Macro Mondays theme Redux 2019 where we could select any of the themes that had been used all year, I chose "White on White". I shot six prescription medication tablets which are roughly the size of an aspirin.
HMM! And see you next year.
Version 2.0 is the second studio album by American rock band Garbage. It was released on May 11, 1998. With this album, the band aimed to improve and expand upon the style of their 1995 eponymous debut rather than reinventing their sound. Lead singer Shirley Manson wrote dark, introspective lyrics, which she felt complemented the songs' melodies.
Building on framework sound and style Garbage established on their debut set, Version 2.0 featured musical references to the 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s, songs featuring live strings, over 100 recorded tracks, and an interpolation of the Beach Boys and The Pretenders. The band said that the goal of Version 2.0 was to create a "rapprochement between the high-tech and low-down, the now sound and of golden memories." Butch Vig stated that the band did not want to reinvent their sound, as they "felt that we had carved our own turf on the first record and we wanted to take everything we did and make it better".
While Garbage had lyrical input from all band members, Manson was responsible for all the lyrics in Version 2.0.[5] Consequently, it was described by Manson as "more direct and more personal than the first. I was able to verbalize things a little clearer this time—I mean, I'm no Nick Cave, I'm never gonna be Bob Dylan. I do what I can to express myself."[4] The singer "tried to let the darker undercurrents come through to offset some of the pop melodies", adding that "like human beings, songs shouldn't be one-dimensional"

Happy 25th anniversary, Version 2.0!
"...Somebody get me out of here
I'm tearing at myself
I've got to make a point these days
To extricate myself
Somebody get me out of here
I'm tearing at myself
Nobody gives a damn about me
Or anybody else
And still you call me co-dependent
Somehow you lay the blame on me"

338/365: There are many feral cats in Malta. This little beauty is one of the lucky ones that live in a cat park where volunteers supply food, beds and medication when needed. The local vets neuter them without charge to try to reduce the problem.
Jane has been sick for over a month, battling a UTI. I think we finally have her on the right medication as she is running super fast again and asks to play a lot more. She is still super cuddly.

Happy Macro Monday!
13th February 2017:
Using my Macro Mondays photo for my photo of the day again, it took me long enough to get a decent photo of it as it was. Plus, I have no intention of going out in the weather we're having this morning!
It's a photo of Graham's heart medication.
Better viewed large and thank you for your favourites. :O)
The triangle on one of the medication I have to take.

Hey, guess who finally did some photography travelling after all this time? And hey, guess who managed to make it an absolute disaster like most times? Yes, me. Ugh. Let's just say - being dumped, coming off medication AND traveling whilst generally anxious doesn't make for a great time.

My eyes are very good in the dark. Fact. Probably because I essentially live in a cocoon, in a dark bedroom all day. Anyway, my good vision means that I often notice things that Michael misses. In this case, it was this sweet little gate below. Possibly a bit of a security issue back when invading armies could come along.
This is the only decent shot that I took that also included the ruin itself. Unfortunately it wasn't a particularly big ruin and a nice view I did find was far too dark. That's what happens when you totally rely on 'natural' light!
Lots more packaged medication is coming with information in Braille embossed upon the cardboard or plastic containers.
No matter how I feel when I first prop my eyes open early in the morning, I always come alive and feel positive when I am out in the quiet countryside seeing the sights.
Caution: This medication may have side effects

Lots of people have to take their medication every day in different forms. The necessary daily routine.

Ibuprofen is a medication in the nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug class that is used for treating pain, fever, and inflammation. Ibuprofen was discovered in 1961 by Stewart Adams and John Nicholson while working at Boots UK Limited and initially marketed as Brufen.
(for the moderators - 1 pill is 1/4 inch so overall we need 12 pills from end to end so it fits in the parameters of MM)

For the Macro Mondays Theme: The eye of the beholder.
Fascinating how a substance can both heal or kill. In the correct dosage we call it a medicine, so it heals or improves certain diseases and disorders. In the wrong amount we call it poison, this same substance can make us more sick or even kill us. Of course nobody wants to use medicines voluntarily, we all hope to grow old healthily. Luckily a lot of illnesses and disorders can be cured nowadays, so when we need them, we can use the right medication.
For this week's theme I made an abstract photo of a capsule. I work in a pharmacy and working with medicines is my daily routine. Even though we all hope we won't have to use them, for me there is a certain beauty in it. The power of a chemical struture wich can either heal or kill... (and for me the healing part is the beauty-part)
Thank you for your time, faves and comments, it's much appreciated.
Happy Macro Mondays
