Bombay Beach has to be one of the coolest and weirdest towns in all of California. Located along the Salton Sea in Imperial County, it is a mecca for artists and their outdoor art installations.
Head down to the beach and you’ll see a swingset out in the water. This is “The Water Ain't That Bad, It's Just Salty," by Chris “Ssippi” Wessman and Damon James Duke. I shot this at around sunset and while the light was great, it was devoid of any clouds. As a result, I composited in the clouds adding depth and texture to the landscape. I don’t take photographs…I make them!

Homesford Cottage Inn is a landmark property on the biker’s route to motorcycle mecca in Derbyshire, ie Matlock Bath.
Sadly it ceased being a pub many years ago, as with many UK country pubs.
This bridge crosses Big Raccoon Creek in Mecca, Indiana. It has since been closed to vehicle traffic and is only open to pedestrians.

A rare Imperial Valley rainstorm has covered the ground in thick, sludgy mud here at Mecca, 187 feet below sea level. On slightly higher and much drier ground, UP ZMQLC 17 blasts through the west end of Mecca siding.
The rear DPU on ZLAJX 16 passes under the SP cantilever signal at the west end of Mecca siding. These signals were some of the last searchlight holdouts on the Yuma Subdivision, but were removed a short time later. This train is headed to CSX interchange and will eventually go all the way to Jacksonville, FL, returning this engine to home rails.
With Easter upon us, I always enjoy watching the film the Ten Commandments, as Moses leads the people out of Egypt after 400 years of bondage. They had their long quest, and I have mine: for years now, I've been on the quest to try to find a Union Pacific train with a clean locomotive! As you can imagine, like Moses, it has been a long and difficult journey. UP, like the Pharaoh, has done everything in its power to stop me. But I have persevered, and on April 18, I reached the end of my journey. Union Pacific finally gave in, opened the gates at West Colton, Calif., and released an eastbound train with a semi-clean leader! I was in Palm Springs, but rushed to the Salton Sea area, where the waters parted and the train cruised through a series of S-curves at North Shore! With tongue firmly in cheek, let us praise the Railfan Gods who made it happen!

This is one of the doors to the El Mecca Club. The double doors confuses me as this was never any kind of garage. The facade doesn't even hint at that. I found this place the darnedest thing I'd seen in a while. Now I wish I had taken a full frontal, but the light was going fast and I had much to do. The Brown Bottle, posted earlier, is next door. The old Locarno Ballroom building in Sale, another fabulous old 1930s building now a Mecca bingo.
Rather than manipulate the leaning building I've kept it as the lens see's it, thought its adds something to the shot ????

It was a warm, OK HOT, clear evening for star gazing in my local California desert areas this week. This area in the Mecca Hills lies in the lower Colorado Desert, part of the larger Sonoran Desert. Sounds hot, huh. It was. Ya gotta check it "L" for some of that foreground detail.
Well this one is one of my favorite one because be her in SL i found alote of stuff that i like but i found a great freand that i relay but relay care too much...
The SP cantilever signal at the west end of Mecca siding. This was one of the last ones to be replaced on the Yuma Sub, hanging on until at least 2017. The juxtaposition of palm trees and snow-capped mountains makes for an unusual backdrop.
