Grounds Muncaster Castle looking to Ferness Fells.

I don't often get the chance to photograph these butterflies. They are constantly on the move and hardly ever land.

I was very lucky with this one.....except I didn't have my macro lens with me !

Jeny Wren singing her little heart out for us in the hide watching her! May 2017

. . . I took an old section of dock and made a ramp up to it just above the waterline, and the turtles have voiced their approval! I have no idea why we have so many turtles here, but it must mean the lake is healthy!

Have a great week Facebook, Flickr, and 500px friends!

Due to chronic poor health I'm unable to take on new contacts but do my best to reply to comments. Thank you so much for your interest, comments and favours on my photostream. Also for your good wishes. I send you joy and peace.

The Prothonotary Warbler is one of a kind in the Northeastern US, and it is so for a number of reasons. First of all, it is the only warbler in this area that nests in tree holes or nest boxes. The Lucy’s warbler also does so, but they are not found in the Northeastern US. The Prothonotary is a brilliant tangerine yellow, with a larger bill and head than most warblers. Found only in swamplands and near slow moving rivers and streams, these jewels of the avian world are declining in number due to habitat loss. Without continued protection of our wetlands from development, one of a kind could easily become none of a kind! #ProthonotaryWarblers

Found this garden ornament in a jungle of a garden and for a garden ornament it wasn't too bad!

While I was out the other day I wanted to take a macro of the Broom flowers in the lower car park.

fraserpaul@btinternet.com has recently uploaded a macro shot of some and I wanted to see how similar they were to ours here.

They aren't or not from the photo I managed to get!
