Mavic Mini Drone

taken on the same day as www.flickr.com/photos/115540984@N02/40361665933/in/datepo.... It was a long time ago that I used my drone, and I wanted to go to the south part of the Biesbosch to see if I could make an additional image of another part of the Noordwaard. It would make a nice addition to www.flickr.com/photos/115540984@N02/42514739985/in/datepo....

The weather was great, there was excellent light, but when coming back home, there was not a single shot of the part that I made a picture of that was worth showing. All too empty and flat.

Luckily I also turned the drone around straight into the sun, and there was the depth that i found thanks to the large shadows of the low hanging sun and the trees giving the shadows.

And another nice addition is the haze in the distance, and again the extremely clear images of DJI mavic.

A lesson learned i guess, making drone shots can be very difficult.

Took the Mavic Pro up to about 30 metres for this shot then edited in Snapseed on iPad Pro. ND4 Filter.

I took a drive down to Marazion in Cornwall last night to get a few drone shots of St Michael's Mount.

I've wanted to get a few views of the mount for a long time and now I have my drone I thought I'd pay a visit after work yesterday.

It was a gorgeous evening and Jim and I got some really nice shots

What more could one say about the Silver Strand Beach other than it’s simply one of the most stunning beaches you could ever lay eyes on 😍 Certainly one of Ireland’s finest horseshoe beaches, complete with its surrounding natural sea grass landscape. Located on the extreme western point of rural Donegal, far away from the everyday bustling of congested towns & traffic jams.

On arrival you are still extremely high above this cove which was carved deep into the surrounding bedrock throughout millions of years of wave erosion. There’s a steep 174 stepped path leading down to this dreamy beach. An experience your mind will never forget walking down to & an experience your legs will never forget climbing back up them 😅 Great for both your body & mind.....

Such a surreal feeling to gaze across our vast Atlantic Ocean (The Pond) knowing that the next stop is America & Canada! Silver Strand is pretty much a little bit of heaven tucked safely away here in Ireland’s side pocket 💚

The Maiden Test Flight of my new DJI Mavic 3 Pro

125 miles of sheer beauty, and a photo-op at every turn in the road. Alaska wilderness at its best.

*(For those folks that have never flown a drone - I want you to know that you don't just send the drone aloft and hope to get a decent shot. You have control over the drone camera, just as you do the digital one you have slung over your shoulder. While the drone is high over your head - you are looking at the screen on your controller as you maneuver your drone into the right position - then you make adjustments to the tilt of the camera, (paying attention to where the sun is positioned) - you then compose your image - and capture your shot. Voila! A birds eye view of your surroundings. It's great fun.)

Vestiges of Delaware's wooden ships exposed at low tide....

I've been waiting for a few months to get the right tide, light or no winds, a good storm to scour out the shore and the wreck, an early winter sun with deep shadows, and my availability, to capture this old wreck. I used to explore this when I was a teen and there was much more wreck in those days. Nevertheless, there's still much to see of this reminder of Delaware's past. The early low sun casts long shadows on the sand that show considerable relief still protruding upward.

The Köhlbrand ("coalbrand") is an arm of the Süderelbe into the Norderelbe. It is the main entrance to the container terminal Altenwerder (CTA).

The Köhlbrand originated in the course of the 14. and fifteen centuries. On its banks, charcoal was fired and sold by local coalmen to the shipowners (hence the name “coalbrand”).

First trip out this year and I was kicking myself for using up my drone batteries before the best light appeared - after this shot. Almost the last I took. Thought I came home with nothing, but maybe?

This thing is too much fun. I'm glad sensor size has finally caught up to my needs (and for a reasonable price). Manhattan Beach Pier during the King Tides last week. Mavic 3 sky-high straight down. I'm not sure I agree with the "top-down" label these types of pics get. It's not the top. There's definitely more above me. I prefer look-down. But then again, I don't get to decide what things are called. I sound like a Boomer. But I'm not. I swear.
