I tend to use bike shows as a reason to push myself to finish projects. I managed to finish this one tonight, the day before I leave for the @phillybikeexpo. Come and check it out if you’re in the area.
Also, I’ll be on a panel with @coastcyclesnyc and @mapbicycles discussing “The Integrated Bicycle”. Wondering what that is? Come and find out on Sunday morning. Hint: it has nothing to do with finding the area under a curve. #chapmancycles #centerpull #brakes #phillybikeexpo #mathjokes
Okay, how many of you remember your math days when you had to use a device like this? The protractor was standard issue as a Weapon of Math Instruction. (Okay, I heard you groan.)
But you remember the math jokes, too, don't you? Like what did the acorn say when it grew up? Answer: Gee, I'm a tree--Geometry. (Okay, I heard you groan again.)

I was sent some teacher jokes in the email. I wonder if this was done by real students. But I can believe it is. Lol!
This was the last thing I did before I went to bed last night.
The Math & CS department at Hobart and William Smith had "pi day" today -- it's supposed to be on March 14 (3.14) but they were on spring break, so they had it today (3.21) instead. So it's only an approximation of pi day. At any rate, Stina thought it would be amusing to take a square pie in for the event, since you don't use pi to calculate the area of a square pie....

Happy 45 Squared to everyone!
I look forward to saying this to all of the humans when they return from their break. I wonder how many will get that mathematically 45 squared is 2025.
Maybe I should wish them a happy sum of the first nine cubes instead...
Well, however you want to say it, Happy New Year!
