Scottish Blackface

I took this picture some time ago when I was riding inline skates around Zurich Airport. There was a dovecote in an allotment. The pigeons did their flight exercises every day as a flock. I have no idea why you are allowed to fly a whole flock of pigeons in the approach path of an airport, but not a single small drone.

I like the picture very much and I think that I have succeeded in taking a master shot. But I'm under no illusions that it will generate a lot of faves. As my recently released AI-generated image shows, another genre is rewarded by the audience

Levantarse a las 4:45 para fotografiar esta conocida localización, y más después haber estado un par de veces en ella es de locos. Ahora pensaréis que viene el pero, pero no. Es de locos. Solo los que lo vivimos con la misma intensidad me entenderéis. Seguramente si hubiera ido 1 hora más tarde no hubiese conseguido este ambiente en edición, aunque la verdad es que buscaba otra cosa, pero se dio vagamente. Intenté alguna panorámica y alguna otra en las pozas que hay detrás del puente, pero con lo que me gustan estas atmósferas no me he podido resistir.

Sin lugar a dudas el lugar más bestia de Euskadi y alrededores es este del cañón de Delika desde donde se puede ver cómo te viene encima el salto del Nervión, al que no le hace falta presentación. Madrugamos @jorgereyazabal , @rafadiez78 y yo mismo para intentar pillar color en el cielo, pero la previsión se retrasó y nos llevamos los picos teñidos del color del sol. Cuando llegamos hasta allí me llevé una grata sorpresa al encontrarme con @jesusrsrc . Otro tan loco como nosotros

Hawnby is a small crossroads village and civil parish in Rye Dale in the North York Moors National Park, North Yorkshire, England.

John Wesley - visited Hawnby in 1757

After staying in Osmotherley he "rode over one of the pleasantest parts of England to Hawnby".

Así te sientes y se ve el mundo desde allí arriba. El cordal de los montes de Valnera con el Castro como techo y emblema se divisa al fondo y se disfruta desde las alturas. Primera foto editada de las varias salidas que hice junto a @mardonss y @alberto.lopez.7355079 estos pasados días de fiesta. Con ellos da gusto salir de excursión 😊

En cuanto a la foto es una panorámica hecha a 25mm para que los montes del fondo tuvieran algo más de presencia y de más de 100 fotos bracketing incluido.

Destacar un par de cosas:

1. Tuve que repasar uno de los valiosísimos video tutoriales sobre el manejo de ptgui de los muchos que tiene @ivanferrerofotografia para colocarme en la foto con una facilidad pasmosa. Gracias Ivan!! Su canal de YouTube y discord son una maravilla. Súper recomendables ambos.

2. Es la primera foto que edito siguiendo parte del flujo de trabajo que @danielvgphoto me enseñó hace ya unos meses en un one to one y que no había tenido la oportunidad de practicar aún. Contactar con el si queréis dar un salto en la edición porque es un gran profe. Súper recomendable también

0 grados, lluvia, viento, nevada, muchas nubes bajas que dejaban ver el monte intermitentemente, y un rato con solo muuucho frío que nos permitió salir del coche a intentar unos pocos disparos. El viento no me permitió dejar el primer plano tan “crunchy” como me hubiese gustado, pero como me pasa muchísimas veces… una excusa más para volver la próxima primavera, eh @mardonss ?

This is how this scene appeared to me - and how it vanished as fast as it came. I even don't know exactly where the tree is located - as the photograph was taken with the 200 mm long lens down the valley. Enjoy the moment!

Quite amazing light rays were visible when the light broke through the low hanging clouds and mist at the edge of the forest at this morning. The whole woodscape was bathed in fine light while I was shooting and enjoying the happening.

Seguimos sacando a la “luz” las fotos de este verano. Tanto la zona Estacas de Trueba, como la de las montañas de Lunada son un espectáculo visual inenarrable. Por eso mejor mostrar imágenes. En esta ocasión nos quedamos unos metros antes de llegar al Alto de las Corvas y al Pico de la Miel. Una suerte tenerlas tan cerca y tener un amigo como @mardonss que me acompañe y me las enseñe

ROG's British Steel blue-liveried 37501 Teesside Steelmaster passes Breaston (between Spondon and Long Eaton), working 5Q78 10.53 Gascoigne Wood Sidings - Bletchley TMD. It is towing London Northwestern Railway "Aventra" EMU 730218. [Pole, 4/6 sections (~5.4m), stood close to the intermediate landing on a footbridge]

When I first saw the gen on this working earlier in the week, I got the impression it might be 37501 so decided I had to make the effort to get a shot - especially as these workings don't usually run on Saturdays. A working the other way the previous day had been 37884, but that returned light engine to Derby and another light engine went back to Gascoigne Wood on Saturday morning - and the gen came through it was 37501.

I'd originally thought about going to Barrow-on-Soar, just a few minutes away from the Great Central Railway, but when I realised it was booked on the Fast Line I decided to go further afield, since the train was booked to run via Derby; Google suggested Breaston was less than half an hour's drive away. I have seen photos at Barrow-on-Soar, as there was quite a gallery there, and they are perfectly acceptable - but it was nice to go to a location I've only visited once previously.

My original plan was to use a 50mm lens (equivalent to 75mm), which would allow me to shoot past the relay cabinet in the foreground (and using the pole stops it encroaching on the bottom of the frame; stood on ladders to see over the bridge parapet, it's still partly in the frame). However, I found a five-car "Meridian" DEMU only just fitted in the space beyond the shadow in the background, and I thought a loco and five-car EMU might not quite clear the shadow... so I changed to a shorter lens, which also allowed the inclusion of the houses.

This was perfectly timed to allow me to photograph the "Hymek" on the minerals departing from Loughborough at the GCR Diesel Gala, and get here with about half an hour to spare - being away from the GCR while the sun angle was poor everywhere. I then decided that, after an earlier start than if I'd been at work, I'd stop somewhere for a bite to eat, so I returned to the GCR a little after the first afternoon shots had come "on".

I think there were four photographers here, two of whom were using poles.
