A closeup of the top half of the figure. The hair is that perfect 60s style that is so totally Jean from when she wore this costume. This is a near perfect representation of that era for her.
Rachel and Rachel, comparing the new Marvel Select figure, with the older Marvel Legends Rachel Grey.
You can really see the costume differences, as well as scale difference between the two lines.
Neither the Marvel Universe nor the Marvel Select Chitauri figures have movie-accurate masks. Their masks were sort of bio-tech, giving them that odd appearance of half-orc and half-machine. The main difference is the lack of a lower jaw or visible eyes, or the unpluggable wire in the back of its head.

A look at the entire gate, made from both stands, sans figures.
The Xavier School plauqe is on the reverse side of the gate half on the right, so it just needs to be flipped around, depending on which school you wish to showcase.
Annoyingly enough, the gates don't quite close properly, so they stay open a bit, or bend oddly. I could probably fix it by removing a millimeter from one or both of the gates where they touch, but that's more trouble than it is worth, for me.
Aside from that, I really love how this looks, and it photographs beautifully, even with the flash. The brick detail looks nice, and the painting is great. And this is a weird comment, but it *feels* good. I can't quantify what I'm talking about. ;)
I have no idea where I'm going to put the bloody thing, but I'm definitely tempted to use it as a backdrop when I do action figure shoots from here out, since it makes for a better background than just the breadbox.
Plus, the pegs help figures stand, or they can lean against the posts.
He looks like a beefed up Iron Man. Nice!
