More then a month ago I took a picture about THIS

 

Last night I had the privilege to see Carlos Santana LIVE for the second time in my life!!! I was amazed watching him work his magic with the guitar for 3 hours… and when the song “Maria, Maria” came up I jumped off my chair and danced, yep Maria, Maria danced to the bit of Santana live…yeahhhh!

 

… and Sarah… I danced for you again!

My very lovely friend Maria traveled from Brazil this week to visit her family in NYC. She kindly saved some time for me and came down to Philadelphia to roam around the city for a day. What a lovely time we had, she's as kind as her smile is bright.

Antwerp has an excellent Brasilian restaurant, "Maria Maria", at the Marnixplaats. If not for the excellent food&caipirinha's, it's worth a visit for the wonderful decoration, above the door.

How to make a Strawberry Margarita...

2 cups crushed ice

1/2 cup strawberry puree (frozen can or fresh strawberries, pureed)

1 cup tequila

2 limes, juiced

Splash Triple Sec

Splash simple syrup (equal amounts sugar and water heated until sugar dissolves, then cooled)

 

Method – The Procedure

Combine in a blender, ice, strawberry water, tequila, lime juice, Triple Sec and simple syrup. Puree until smooth. Pour into rocks glasses and serve.

How to make a margarita

1 1/2 oz 1800® Tequila

1 oz Grand Marnier® orange liqueur

1/4 oz fresh lime juice

 

Shake 100% blue agava tequila with grand marnier and lime juice, and strain into a chilled salt-rimmed cocktail glass. Serve.

How to make Caviche

* 10 ounces coconut milk

* 1 tablespoon chopped ginger

* 1 tablespoon grated horseradish

* 12 ounces sashimi quality tuna, cubed into medium pieces

* 1 tomato, seeded and diced

* 1 small red onion, julienned

* 1 scallion, julienned

 

Directions

 

In a pot, bring the coconut milk, ginger, and horseradish to a boil and reduce by a quarter. Strain and set aside to cool. In a mixing bowl, combine the tuna, tomato, and coconut sauce. Add salt and pepper, to taste.

 

Place in a serving bowl and garnish with the red onion and scallion.
