Dramatic day here in Alphen aan den Rijn. In a nearby shopping mall a man fired away with an automatic weapon. At least 6 people died (including the shooter), at least 11 are wounded....
(Image: I see this scene everytime I cycle to work. Yesterday I had my small compact camera with me. Fortunately the circumstances were great. (SOOC, except for the square crop!))
Just prior to walking up to this man sitting on his suitcase I saw the most curious sight...
See his left hand slipping into his pocket? What you cannot see is his cell phone on which he just finished texting.
Closeup of the wonderful banjo player at Hagood Mill's Third Saturday events. I just love the look of him. He has such character, and is a very talented musician.
A sensible man will remember that the eyes may be confused in two ways - by a change from light to darkness or from darkness to light; and he will recognize that the same thing happens to the soul. ~Plato
I know these are for ceremony purposes, but that did not stop my mind from wandering a little while I passed by these giant mountains of flowers. When I was a little kid, near the end of the year in autumn I would enjoy jumping around in giant piles of leaves. How could I not imagine a little what it would be like to fall into one of these giant piles of flowers. I would probably get my ass kicked for doing something so disgraceful or get stung by hundreds of bees hiding in the flowers. There must be other people thinking this.
(Scan vom Dia)
Man, man...MAN!
The Wülfrath Local History Museum was the destination of a Father's Day tour in 2001 with the two MAN railcars 25 & 24 of the Rhein-Sieg-Eisenbahn RSE. A service stop was made at the level crossing at the entrance to Wülfrath station, without any red tape. A single step served as a replacement platform. This reduced the walk for passengers to the museum from a good 1 km to just about 300 meters. Man, man...I wonder if that was lega?
