On the street yesterday, I walked by a man who had on a gorgeous outfit. Everything about it was perfect, it had a very awesome_old_man_in_europe vibe. I walked by and stared at him. “I love your outfit,” spilled out of my mouth. He looked behind himself, then looked at me again, a smile cracking his face. “Yah, yours” I said. “It’s amazing.”
He lit up. “Its Yves St Laurent from 1920,” he told me, pawing his scarf. “I was on the Titantic. I modeled for the Beatles. I’m friends with Patti Smith. I was a model in the 70s.”
I asked him if I could take a picture. He told me he was in a car accident a few years ago, “that’s why.”
“That’s why what?” I asked.
“That’s why I wear these things. In case I ever get hit by a car again and die.”
I love photographing this metal man. I love the contrast of this metal sculpture made out of bicycle parts and its organic surroundings. The morning sunlight can illuminate this sculpture so beautifully.
A good man is one who is passionate and put his heart into everything he does!

Finally I've had time to get around to editing some of my archives and I found so many photos I love that I'd skipped over :-)

This man caught my eye as I walked through the Mehrangarh Fort in Jodhpur. I could only imagine the wise old tales he might tell his grandchildren.

On the last day of our stay in Coniston I foolishly decided that it would be a good idea to climb the Coniston 'Old Man'. 803 metres high and bedevilled every step of the way by uneven slate footpaths until you reach the final 20 metres or so where there is no path at all and you have to pick you way through the rock. Quite an experience, but one I'm glad I had. This was taken about 30 minutes from the summit and thats my son on the right.
