Künstlerviertel Peking
Im Nordosten Pekings liegt Dashanzi, auch als Künstlerviertel 798 bekannt. In dem ehemaligen Fabrikkomplex hat sich seit Ende der 90er eine wachsende Künstlergemeinschaft niedergelassen und ist so zu einem bunten Szeneviertel geworden.
After a short break we are going back to Portugal, to the Algarve today. This time it is not the coast we will focus on but a building I drove by accidentally.
You can find it in the small town of Olhão not far away from the more known city Faro. This completely with paintings covered ruin suddenly emerged next to the main road. I did spend some time there walking around and watched these countless pictures on the walls. Some of them were really good.
Nach einer kurzen Unterbrechung geht es heute zurück nach Portugal und zwar an die Algarve. Dieses Mal ist es nicht die Küste die wir uns ansehen, sondern ein Gebäude, an dem ich zufällig vorbei gekommen bin.
Ihr findet es in dem kleinen Ort Olhão unweit der mehr bekannten Stadt Faro. Diese vollständig mit Bildern überzogene Ruine tauchte plötzlich direkt neben der Hauptstrasse auf. Ich hab eine ganze Weile dort verbracht, bin rund herum gelaufen und habe mir die unzähligen Bilder auf der Fassade angesehen. Da waren einige echt gute dabei.

Jetzt setze ich mit einer kleinen Bilderreihe fort, bei der Zeichnungen von Ortschaften oder Landschaften in Malereien umgesetzt wurden als erste farbige Gestaltung zu Entwürfen für spätere größere Gemälde auf Leinwand oder Hartplatte.

Ich liebe die Malerei aus der Palette. die 5 Ausgangsfarben werden auf die Malfläche aufgetragen und los geht das Malen. Reste der Palette sind noch sichtbar und erzählen vom Malvorgang. Eine meist heitere Buntheit belebt das Gemälde.
I love painting from the palette. The 5 starting colors are applied to the paint surface and off you go painting. Remains of the palette are still visible and tell about the painting process. A mostly cheerful variety enlivens the painting.

Dies ist nicht nur ein Wortspiel. Der Satz weist darauf hin, dass jeder Mensch und jedes Wesen, jeder Gegenstand auf der Erde wichtig ist, geachtet und anerkannt werden sollte - ohne Rücksicht auf Aussehen, Religion, Volkszugehörigkeit, Reichtum. Die Erde selbst ist klein und so wichtig für uns kleine Menschen.
This is not just a play on words. The phrase indicates that every person and every creature, every object on Earth is important, should be respected and recognized - regardless of appearance, religion, ethnicity, wealth, riches. The earth itself is small and so important for us little people.

Ich trage 5 Ausgangsfarben - die bekannten Farbtöne wie im Computerdrucker - auf die leere, weiß grundierte Malfläche und lasse daraus das Bild entstehen. Das Gemälde zeigt die entstandene Malpalette und die dargestellten Bildgegenstände nebeneinander.
Vielleicht lässt sich der Arbeits-prozess des Bildermalens ablesen.
I am wearing 5 basic colors - the well-known shades as in a computer printer - on the empty, white primed paint surface and let it form the picture. The painting shows the created painting palette and the pictorial objects side by side.
