3/336: 2016

1/52 for The 52 Weeks photo Challenge - Beauty's nothing.

This is my (probably very shallow) interpretation of the theme. I think that we (ladies) generally feel a bit more beautiful and confident with a bit of lippy on! This is probably a safe option for me too as I do an awful lot of product style shots. I have also done a similar shot before, during my 365 last year...pic in comments, but I feel I have improved since then and I think that is what the group is about too. So I hope this is an acceptable pic for the challenge. Sorry to double up on week one too, it just makes it a bit easier for me with the 366. I will try to stretch myself and go out of my comfort zone a bit more through the year...maybe when the weather improves!

Macro Mondays - Ready for the Day

Revamp

Pronunciation: \(ˌ)rē-ˈvamp\

Function: transitive verb

Date: 1850

1. To improve the appearance, condition, or structure of something by making sometimes superficial changes

2. A change made in something in order to improve its appearance or functioning

I sold high end cosmetics for four years, through undergrad and into graduate school. I'm not going to lie; I loved it. I loved the art of makeup application, I loved helping women feel better about themselves, I loved the women I worked with and the lifelong friends I made, and I loved all of the freebies. I have cases of eyeshadow, lipstick, lip liner, eye liner...I could go on. Almost all of it goes to waste, as I never ever apply a "full face" of makeup anymore.

This picture was intended for me to be holding almost every brush I own, but in the end I couldn't fit all of the hands into the frame.

FGR and I love me, TRP and addiction, July's ABC Soup and R is for Revamp.

A bit different for me, I know. But I saw the light beam while I was changing out of my work clothes, and it just kind of struck me. I need to start seeking out different kinds of light.

Chill song to match my mood. Love this album.

# 23 for April 2015: A month in 30 pictures

# 35 in my 100 x challenge - using my 50mm

A little bit of powder, a little bit of paint, make a lady something she ain't...I remember hearing this years ago and it came to mind when taking this photo. Got to get my inspiration where I can at the moment, life is very hectic and not likely to improve for the next couple of weeks.

Still doing my best to get around to commenting but, not doing very well...sorry.

Beauty is power

and make-up

is something that

really enhances that.

Macro Mondays August 27th theme: “Defining Beauty”

I like how this turned out. Its like a mini forrest of make up brushes.

60/365 -- Tools of Attraction

These are Kim's. I used to not understand why she would need so many kinds of brushes to apply her make up. She has this stubby one which I find interesting. It's very similar to the ones barbers use to apply shaving cream on our beards and mustaches. Then there's the long one, the thin one, the short one, the just-right one... Obviously, I know nothing about make up.

Well, she never understands why I need all my lenses either so we call it quits.

Strobist info: 1x SB-600 into white shoot through umbrella subject right. 1x white board subject left for fill.

Just wandering through my Re-ment & decided to take a picture of my makeup box. I love the eyelash curler & the working scissors, but it seemed kind of empty so I added some stuff from the Petit Cosmetics set. The box is kind of a strange size, it's bigger than 1/6, probably more like 1/4 or 1/3 size, but the makeup all looks like 1/6. I wonder why they decided to make this set, it's very different for them.

leaves become most beautiful when they're about to die.

Some cities are more memorable than others. The fact that there was a peace memorial here reminding us of what happened 73 years ago made it a special place. And I thought the sun setting on an event like that may spur us all to vow that it never happens again.

This is the chick, who won the make up artist of the year contest in Sofia. She asked me to take a "corporate" portrait for her portfolio. So this is it. Hope you like it.
