Wise men do, you know.. Dream with their eyes wide open… They look ahead, and dream, and plan a way to make their dream come true. If you want to retire on a lake with a mountain view, you’re going to have to make it happen. You’re going to need a boatload of money, for one thing.. And that means unless you are wealthy, you’re going to have to do without some things you’d like to have or do now, and that’s not always easy. It also means you are very likely to have to move out of Texas, and that’s not easy either. The places where you can see a lake and a mountain from the same spot in Texas are rare, and so they are expensive.
Luckily for me, I’m not so picky.. I would be happy with a view of a hill and a puddle, as long as I can see them from a great big rocker on a big, wide porch. From there, I would survey my domain, sip my coffee, and close my eyes – and look back over a life that I lived the best way I could.. Not perfect.. not easy.. and definitely not long enough or wild enough while I was young enough.. But I hope I can say I did a lot with the opportunities I had, and that I made some people smile when they saw me coming..
