Abigail for Make A Change
_______________________________
I was asked to photograph some t-shirts for a new Unicef campaign a friend of mine is working on. The campaign is called Make A Change and it is definitely a good cause and the money goes to the right place, unlike many charities I've tried to get involved in.
As for the image, it is particularly a favourite of mine and it is an idea I have wanted to convert to image for some time.

Abigail for Make A Change (Unicef)
Not too sure about this, feedback?
In other news, my website should be here within the next few weeks, which is pretty exciting. The fantastic Andrew Bell of www.prettyrough.co.uk is designing it for me so I am happy about that.
I was talking to one of my friends who works in New York and he wrote -
"y'day we were in timessq. one of the most materialistic places in the world, and amidst all show biz a giant tv screen is showing videos of bombing in lebanon -cnn i think, and a guy is crying, not hard but just a small shed a tear and his prgnant wife is too tired to move away from shelling, and this is happening in the other side of the world and for us it was just another video footage while worrying about whether to watch pirates 2 or not for the matinee show. oh man, i dont know how we all grew to remain so unaffected by our surroudings"
This picture was taken with a very similar setup.
Three of my travel images are currently part of the ‘InEquality’ photography show at Roseberry Road Studios, taking place during the PhotoFrome Festival in Bath, England. I am happy to announce that the above image sold at the exhibition, happy days!
Photo|Frome is an independent photography festival celebrating diverse voices — from local emerging talent to international artists. The exhibition runs from 10–25 April 2025.
This is a cropped image of one of mine which is currently on display. A local woman in Cusco, Peru searches through garbage in the streets minutes from the tourist crowded centre.

Abi and I have worked together a lot lately, so she has become very comfortable in front of my camera now. You'll see from more of this shoot how evident that is.
More of a description will be revealed when I blog them in the coming days.

I think this month, I might try and break out a little more, make a little change… try to include some stuff that isn't the cobwebs in my head.
Use the space.
Open the frame.
Might be fun.
Happy February.
I usually don't want to write my thoughts, but this time I'll do.
These things come from my deepest part of my heart.
I was very little when this tragedy took place and I just remember my parents worried about what would will happened later.
As we all know, the world changed, but it didn't completely.
I wonder why there are still wars and fights between different religions? Why there are still enemies?
I believe in peace, and I find it like the only way to survive in this wonderful world which is ruined by ourselves.
After fifteen years, this episode is not forgotten and I will try until the end of my days to fight and defend every single human, his rights and try to settle peace and love in the whole world. We must all do this. We deserve it and if we believe it, we could definitely succeed.

Field of dreams in West Wales named one of best events
Apr 9 2010 by Sam Malone, Western Mail
A TENT in a muddy field in West Wales has been singled out as one of the best conference venues in the world.
Participants at the Do Lectures in Ceredigion may pay £1,000 for a weekend under canvas, but are treated to talks by some of the most inspirational figures around – everyone from Everest-conquering mountaineers to war-zone journalists.
And after just two series the talks, which were the brain-child of Clare and David Hieatt, have now been voted the third best contemporary conference in the world by Brain Pickings, an independent blogger who showcases the best of today’s creative thinkers.
The Do Lectures, which only accommodate 85 people, see about 20 speakers take to the stand to talk about a range of subjects. These speeches are filmed and then broadcast on the internet for free.
Mr Hieatt, 45, who along with his wife Clare, 42, also founded the environmentally-friendly clothes brand Howies, said the lectures were designed to get the doers of the world to inspire ordinary people to follow their dreams.
“We all have to find our way in this world and it would be great if we could put people’s dreams which only exist in their heads into action,” he said.
“I have always enjoyed learning things through reading about remarkable people, what they’ve achieved and how they’ve inspired others. In a way what the Do Lectures are about is telling stories which are motivational. This is essentially what we hope to do and how we hope to reach people.”
The event, which this year will take place from September 16 to 19, costs between £80,000 to £90,000 to host.
Tickets for individuals cost £1,000 while for companies they cost £2,000 yet Mr Hieatt is adamant they are value for money.
“For every person who buys a ticket we figured out that 16,000 people were able to watch the lectures last year for free.
“For that reason, and the fact the lectures don’t make a profit, they offer something of great value.”
During the past two years the conference has attracted people such as mountaineer Paul Deegan and the creative director of global advertising company Wieden + Kennedy, Tony Davidson.
And while this year’s line-up has yet to be confirmed, Mr Hieatt said he is hopeful Tim Berners-Lee, the creator of the internet, would make an appearance.
“People say the first three years are your reputation-making years and to be honest, because the event was so successful last year, it’s now become a major event.
“The calibre of the speakers we get is so high now, since we provide a platform and then an audience, the lectures have become more interesting for them.”
More than 550,000 people tuned in to watch last year’s conference and Mr Hieatt hopes this number will only grow in the future. He added the conferences are already over-subscribed in terms of the numbers of speakers.
“It’s been a lot easier this year to bring in the speakers; we now actually have more speakers than we can host. I even believe if we had two events we would still not have enough room to accommodate them.
“It’s a cliché I know, but it’s been a case of plant an acorn and watch it grow.”
And it seems there is no limit to how far the Do Lectures will go. Yahoo, the internet service provider, has already approached the Hieatts to see whether it could also stream coverage of the conference. It is an idea which is embraced by Mr Hieatt.
“Obviously our aim is to get as big an audience as possible. If we want to make a positive change then certainly working with Yahoo is a way forward.”
Over the course of 4 days, May 15-18, volunteers from Qualcomm, local residents, business owners, and artists will converge in the alleyways to take part in their transformation by painting murals, installing signage, marking pathways, installing lights, weeding and planting, and a variety of other designs as determined by the community. This event will culminate into a series of block parties in each project location, featuring music, food, and guest speakers.
