Welcome everyone to this year's 2022 Shigyoshiki opening ceremony
I hope you are all well, and the seating isn't too troublesome.
With Covid 19 still running through Kyoto, we must still maintain social distancing, so you are not required to wear masks and mess up your lovely faces.
We all have had hard times this year with the strict regulations in certain areas, drama from the news, and work environments, perhaps not as you remember since before 2020
The Geisha Community has lost many of our Geikohan and Maikohan in this year. As work has become few and far between.
Sadly, many have had to move on, to find other means of employment and many have said they will not be returning.
You might be thinking, why am I starting this year's speech with not so wonderful words of happier days and musings?
I wished to only say....Omedetou san dosu, to all those who are still with us, each and everyone one of you have become rare jewels in the floating world.
Through tough times, and tears....you are part of those who still remain....firm as the willow, yet flexible as the reeds.
Here in second life, not only do we enjoy the fun and experience of this virtual world of our version of Geisha, over the last two years...even our community has had a few bouts.
Interest in Second Life's virtual Geisha has become very small, Though do not let this discourage you in your path to become the best Geikohan you can be.
With new things we can do, and no longer allowing SL to dictate to us how we bring to life our world, ...there is nothing we can't do in the near future. And it is my hope, we can once again give those we entertain something to be excited over once again.
I believe in each and every one of you. Each, have your own talents, personalities, and even quirks. Though business maybe slow at this time, I hope you will keep on being yourself and true to your art
