NOTE: Thanks to Lord V for clarifying that this is a kind of Hylaeus Bee which look a lot like Wasps.
It was quite odd to me that one of these usually very active wasps was just laying there on the flower.....presumably doing nothing of any sort. So I managed to get really close and get a lot of shots. I do hate the fact that the flower bud is blocking a part of the mouth but I also like this shot because this little guy is one of my favorites to shoot in Macro.

I need help identifying this Moth. Anyone know the name for it?
I have finally gotten my Macro lens. The wonderful Canon EF 100mm 2.8. I've started doing serious macro with it for two days now, and the results are not all amazing but I'm getting there. Macro is super fun, which is why I'm a Macroholic! now. =)

A quick search in Wikipedia got me the name of this beautiful Butterfly. This was taken early December in the Zaid wildlife preserve and is one of my very first macro shots.

I wanted to take decent Macro shots of Ladybugs for a really long time. But I have finally got one right.....unlike Bees or Flies, ladybugs rarely stay still, so it was hard to me to get the focus right. This is the only shot out of 10 shots that was completely in focus.
As for editing, I sharpened the image a bit, removed the ladybug's shadow and rotated the image so it became horizontal instead of vertical, which is much better.

This was taken last February. I have found that the second most interesting type of photography for me is Macro photography.
