Es una mariposa de hábitos diurnos, desde octubre y hasta fines de febrero las podemos observar volando durante el día.

En los restantes meses no la observamos volar debido a que es un animal que tiene metamorfosis completa.

Lucilia sericata (Meigen, 1826) (Diptera: calliphoridae)

La mosca verde botella común (Phaenicia sericata o Lucilia sericata) es una mosca de la familia Calliphoridae encontrada en la mayoría de las áreas del mundo y la más conocida de las numerosas especies de moscas verde botella. Es de 10-14 mm de largo, ligeramente más grande que una mosca doméstica, y tiene coloración brillante, metálica, azul-verde u oro con marcas negras. Tiene cerdas (setas) cortas y escasas de color negro en el tórax. Las alas son transparentes con venas marrón claro; las patas y antenas son negras. Las larvas se utilizan para la terapia de gusanos

السوسة الزرقاء أو يوفولوس (الاسم العلمي Eupholus)، هي جنس من الخنافس من فصيلة السوسية الحقيقية، وجدت في بابوا غينيا الجديدة والجزر المجاورة لها. ويتميز هذه النوع بألوانه الرائعة، من الأزرق إلى الفيروزي، ومعظم حشرات السوسة الزرقاء يتغذى على أوراق اليام. قد يكون لونها بمثابة تحذير للحيوانات المفترسة على أنها كريه.

Eupholus is a genus of beetle in the family Curculionidae. The genus includes some of the most colourful of the weevils. The colour may serve as a warning to predators that they are distasteful. Most species feed upon yam leaves, some of which are toxic to other animals. The species occur in New Guinea and adjacent islands. This genus was described by French entomologist Jean-Baptiste Alphonse Dechauffour de Boisduval in 1835.
