Often, using a macro lens on flowers, especially small ones , makes them difficult to identify because they look sooo different to our normal viewing of them.

In the case of Solidago - you really would be hard-pushed to recognise this macro flower for what it really is methinks!

Tuvo una actitud atípica, en vez de andar correteando y chupando todo de acá para allá se acercó a mi cámara y parecía observarla. La espanté con el dedo pués fotos de moscas tengo muchas, pero dió un pequeño vuelo y regresó. Indudablemente quería ser retratada para lograr algún reconocimiento en flickr, así que.....

The top of a hole is about 5.08 cm across.
