Indigo Rose String Art by my daughter-in-law, Jackie White

Who remembers macramé? I probably made this back in the seventies. I'm finding the craziest things while cleaning out a spare room. In this photo it's holding rattan balls I use to make toys for my cockatiels.

For Looking close on Friday's theme "knots"

I covered a Don Perignon champagne bottle over 30 years ago with macrame knots.... it sits in my sunroom, so I had to take a macro image of the top.... perfect for the Macro Monday string theme!!

I had posted a picture of the entire bottle... but have no idea how to share it on this post.... it is in my Kiss My Glass album

My wife's first macrame creation - a plant hanger - knotted from a handy ball of string. In the background is the bowl it hung from the ceiling. (For Macro Mondays "string")

For Macro Mondays theme; "knots". HMM!

Dictionary definition of this little string-and-bead doodad I made about 45-50 years ago.

Happy "macr-" Monday!

...complete with cat fur!!

Yes, these earrings were made in the 70’s by me.

For Smile on Saturday's theme "creative with rope"

This piece of work is a section of an owl wall hanging which was crafted by tying knots in strands of chunky wool. This is something that I made back in my younger days but still have today.

Macromondays - string

Sainte-Angèle, Bécancour, Centre-du-Québec, Québec, Canada.

Macrame with coloured wire. Handmade especially for Macro Mondays ("knots"). This view of the subject is about 2.25" (5.5cm) wide.

I've made things with this kind of wire since the 70s (including other macrame-like things). I might go a decade or more without making something (life, amirite?). But every once in a while I am still compelled to fetch an old box of the stuff from the storage closet.

This comes from a Mandelbulb3D image which quickly turned into a dark store room filled with bulbous containers with tassels and bright colors. What does it mean? I have no idea.

The textures and patterns of macrame

This image, approx 2 inches in width, is part of the eye of a macrame owl my wife made many years ago. The string has been "teased" out of it's tight twists to form the facial discs of the owl's eyes.

These two are actually just two ways of making the same knot, which is known as the cobra knot ;-) I only need about twenty minutes to finish one.
