When she jumps on her chair, she demands a treat. When I don't follow up on her request, she penetrates me with her eyes. A stare-down ensues...
The cat always wins.

Thank you for your visit, kind comments and fave. Always greatly appreciated. :-)
I changed the title and deleted the story. I realized it didn't do her justice. Happy Caturday!
My sincerest thanks for your visit, fave and comment.

Oscar has stripes and some spots radiating outward from a dark stripe down his back. It looks somewhat like a fish skeleton hence the name, Mackerel Tabby.
I love looking at the stripes on his legs and around his beautiful face, my favorite parts.

I went out to buy breakfast this morning and saw Abby the Tabby, loafing in front of the convenience store. It wouldn't open until 10 a.m and the first employee wouldn't arrive to open the shutter until half an hour before opening time.
Poor Abby has to wait for her morning meal and I didn't have any cat food with me. I'm sure she'll get her breakfast in time. Notice that her left ear tip had been snipped by the vet who had spayed her.
Abby the Tabby has become a familiar sight each time I go to the mini supermarket. She let me pet her after taking quick pictures of her doing the perfect loaf. 🍞
Ulysses strikes a contemplative pose in this beautiful natural light portrait, his gaze directed off to the side with that thoughtful expression cats seem to reserve for moments when they're pretending not to be entirely focused on you. His tabby and white markings are on full display—the classic brown mackerel tabby pattern on his face and ears contrasting beautifully with that luxurious white chest ruff that's pure Maine Coon fluff.
The composition captures him sitting perfectly upright on what appears to be a gray couch or cushioned surface, his posture absolutely regal. Those white front paws are placed just so, like a sphinx guarding ancient secrets. The soft natural lighting coming from the windows illuminates his features gorgeously, highlighting the translucent quality of his backlit ears and bringing out the golden-green tones in his eyes.
Behind him, the domestic scene provides context—hardwood floors, white trim, framed photos on the wall, and that glimpse of everyday home life that makes pet portraits feel authentic. This isn't a studio setup; this is Ulysses in his natural habitat, clearly comfortable and confident in his domain.
What really makes this portrait work is how it captures his personality—that slightly aloof, dignified air that Maine Coons are famous for, combined with just enough softness in his expression to suggest he's not entirely above accepting attention. His fluffy coat is clearly well-maintained, with that distinctive Maine Coon semi-long fur that requires regular grooming but always photographs beautifully. The slight blur in the background keeps all focus on this magnificent feline, making it clear who the star of this household truly is.
Lucy was enjoying being in this large box when her older sister, Hannah (in the foreground), decided to check things out. I had the impression that Lucy preferred having the box to herself and was waiting for Hannah to leave (which she did).
Hi Flickrhumans, my name is Magierin (Enchantress) because I'm the darkest of the litter. When my foster-mommy first found me, my fur was almost black and my eyes were a deep, dark blue. So far, I've been the quietest, too. I love to play with all of my siblings equally but when I go to sleep, I like to either be alone or with my brother Krieger. I was the first who ran up to our foster-mommy when she called us, so I'm very proud of being so courageous. Most of the time, I am one of the first at the feeding dish and one of the last to leave it. What can I say? Eating is my hobby! And sleeping and playing and climbing and running around and conquering new frontiers. Yep, precisely in that order.
