In preparation for the round-the-world trip that my wife and I will be setting off on in a months time, I'm putting together a list of photography equipment that I plan to take along with me. This is so that I can sort out insurance and also give me a physical idea of how much stuff it is, so that I can refine it as our leaving date approaches.
The main bits are:

* Canon 70-200 F4L lens
* Canon 50mm F1.4 lens
* Panasonic Lumix FX33
* Slik Sprint Mini II tripod
.. and various covers, cables, connectors, chargers and batteries.

Nice new MacBookPro13", running Ubuntu (Pangolin), MacOS (Lion), and Windows8. Bag is a great Crumpler Mullet (some say its a fish, others a hair cut). Dell Streak with a pair of cycling friendly bone conducting headphones. Amazon Kindle, and a power supply all set for the Czech Republic.

If you’re a creative professional who doesn’t quite want to pay the price of the MacBook Pro 16, or you’re looking for something more compact, you’re probably better suited to the 14-inch MacBook Pro. This device is smaller, lighter, and less expensive than its 16-inch counterpart, but it comes with the same monstrous processor options and the same stellar screen.
We didn’t see much of a difference in benchmark scores between the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBooks with the same processors — the 14-incher actually outperformed the 16-inchers in some of our tests. The primary difference to consider, apart from the sizes of these devices, is battery life. The 16-inch chassis allows for a significantly bigger battery, and the 16-inch M1 Pro model lasted several hours longer than the 14-inch M1 Pro model did in our testing.

Zac was obviously skilled with computer equipment, and very soon he had the laptop connected to the power supply and switched on.
Jim did not know what to expect, but was obviously surprised when a sweet voice said 'Hello Jim', and a welcome screen opened up with the Club Jaguar logo glowing magically on the screen.
"You see, Jim, Zac's already set it all up - just for you.", with a slight tinge of jealousy in his voice, - until his own laptop, with what sounded like Zac's voice, suddenly said "Hi Ethan !".
"Wow, it knows me "", Ethan said, "and talks in a 'cool' way. - thanks Zac."

On Friday, August 7, 2009, I received my new Unibody MacBook Pro 13" laptop to replace my old black MacBook. The packaging showed the usual Apple attention to detail, and the new computer is a joy to work with.
