V sobotu 16.10.2021 sa konala jazda nedávno opravenej a sprevádzkovanej Slovenskej strely z Kopřivnice do Valašských Klobouku. Na foto R 10893 pri spiatočnej ceste prechádza úsekom medzi zastávkami Nezdenice a Šumice.

Lužná u Rakovníka

Krátko predpoludním prekročil česko-slovenské hranice legendárny motorový vozeň známy pod názvom Slovenská strela. Ide o motorový vozeň označený ako M290.002 vyrobený v koprivnických Závodoch Tatra, a.s. v roku 1936 pre vtedajšiu Československú štátnu železnicu v počte dva kusy. Na vozňoch bol unikátny nielen dizajn karosérie a interiér, ale predovšetkým elektromechanický prenos výkonu od Jozefa Sousedíka. Vďaka jeho patentovanému systému sa vozidlo rozbieha na elektrický pohon a pri dosiahnutí rýchlosti 82 km/h sa automaticky prepne na čisto mechanický. Ten je pri vyšších rýchlostiach účinnejší. Oba motorové vozne jazdili v bežnej premávke rýchlosťou až 130 km/h, pri jazdných skúškach dosiahli rýchlosť 148 km/h.

 

Do pravidelnej prevádzky boli vozne spoločnosťou ČSD zaradené 13. júla 1936. Boli pridelené do depa a domovskej stanice Bratislava – hlavná stanica a jazdili na motorovom rýchliku „Slovenská strela“ na trase Bratislava – Brno – Praha. Dosahovali priemernú cestovnú rýchlosť 92 km/h (v tej dobe parné vlaky jazdili v priemere 68 km/h), pričom spoje boli prvýkrát v histórií ČSD povinne miestenkové. Jazda trvala 4 hodiny a 20 minút vrátane trojminútovej prestávky v Brne.

 

Po vyradení z prevádzky tento motorový vozeň dlho chátral, no nedávno podstúpil kompletnú renováciu. Dnes vstúpil na sieť ŽSR po dlhých 70. rokoch a mieri na výstavu do Tatranskej Lomnice, kde dnes odštartujú preteky veteránov “500 km slovenských”. Zajtra, t.j. 30.06.2022 poputuje od Tatier k Dunaju až do hlavného mesta Slovenskej repuliky, kde bude vystavený v Múzeu dopravy.

 

Deň pred príchodom Slovenskej strely prišli neoficiálne informácie, o zlomenej kľukovej hriadeli, čo znamenalo, že motorový vozeň knám nepríde vlastnou silou ako bolo pôvodne plánované. Organizátori promptne zaobstarali "Okuliarnika" 750.202, ktorý napokon so Slovenskou strelou aj farebne ladil.

V rámci dnešní plánované návštěvy Ostravy jsem nepočítal že bych stihl jízdy Slovenské strely do Studénky, nechal jsem to náhodě a inu vyšlo. Mám už ji ulovenou po páté ale díky pěknému počasí až dnes poprvé s násvitem :)

Czech Republic - Railcar "Slovenská Strela" (My Son´s Photo) - Railcar class M 290.0 (manufactured as Tatra 68), named after an express train which it served as Slovenská strela was manufactured by Tatra Kopřivnice in 1936 for Czechoslovak State Railways.

Only two units were manufactured and were used on newly introduced express train Slovenská strela starting in 1936. They covered the distance in 4 hours and 28 minutes with a maximum speed of 130 km/h. Both were taken out of service when World War II started in 1939. Afterwards, they were only occasionally deployed on local routes.

The M 290.001 was taken out of service in 1953, the M290.002 in 1960. The M 290.002 is now on display in the company museum of Tatra (company) in Kopřivnice. The M 290.001 did not survive. As of August 2018, the car no. 290,002 is being restored at a cost of 35 million crowns (CZK). Upon completion it will once again be capable of full operation.

Po dvou letech oprav se motorový vůz M290.002 Slovenská strela dočkal provozního stavu. Dnes 13.12.2020 se měla uskutečnit plánovaná zkušební jízda z Přerova do Břeclavi a zpět, kvůli mechanické závadě byla jízda ukončena v žst. Huštěnovice.

I don't know if this is a DIY camper but if it is it looked well done.

98,000 miles at the last MOT. Diesel engined so I'd imagine fairly economical. About the size of camper I like.

That damned Voxy probably features in 80% of my photos from that day.

The GHA Coaches fleet has contained a number of unusual (and it some cases unique) buses over the years - a more recent example is this rare Iveco Turbocity with Wadham Stringer body, originally registered M290 OUR. Seen here leaving Wrexham bus station in 2006, it was withdrawn in 2008 and scrapped in 2010.

Elsey's M290 OUR is an Iveco TurboCity 480.10.21 with Wadham Stringer Vanguard II bodywork, acquired new in 1995. It would later pass to GHA Coaches and receive the registration M10 GHA.

Proving that it's worth taking the camera even on short lunchtime walks. I was very much surprised to see this though, looks like a Newcastle reg.

A base model I assume, given there's no trim listed. Current owner since 1995. 14 base models from 1994 remain.

Unrecognisable as the special model it was when new. DVLA has it as being black in colour, and untaxed since September 2010.
