Romani people in Greece.
The Roma minority comprises around 3% of the total Greek population. They usually remain on the margins of society, living in isolated ghetto-like settlements. The most serious issue is the housing problem since many Roma in Greece still live in tents, on properties they do not own, making them subject to eviction. When camping out, they always make big fires at night to warm themselves.
When you build a few feet above the high tide line, you have to have a real sense of adventure!

Smoking was allowed in public buses until 2008.
The #builtenvironment of the capebis changing. Sometimes, it takes the form of homages to the historical forms and styles, as is the case with #Cuffys in West Dennis. Other times, more generic renditions of motifs or just plain corporate identity is showing up. My work is basically just a love letter to Cape Cod by relating the changes that are happening to the place where I chose to live. Maybe it will make others consider their locale or region. Like Atget photographed Paris and Berenice Abbott photographed New York, this is my thing.

I can't imagine what causes a gas station to shut down and be abandoned. If anyone can explain to me the economic pressures that make liquid gold unprofitable, I would welcome the input. I want to continue to improve my understanding of the world around me based on factual, verifiable data.
I must have loaded the film incorrectly somehow because this came back from the developer all kinds of wrong. It was cut off at weird angles on top and bottom. Out of 12 exposures, this was the only messed-up shot. I liked how it looked in its messed up state, though

What happens to old gas stations? Are the tanks emptied when they shut down? Do the owners simply walk away and leave it for the town or state?
How long before wind and solar farms replace fallow fields instead of subdivisions of overpriced houses, and the homes that *are* built have charging stations connected to the solar-power on the roof?

My Cape Cod dream house is The White Pillars in #Dennis #Massachusetts. I have always loved #GreekRevival architecture since long before I knew what it was. The clean and ordered simplicity of the design and the true expression of the #Doric orders is perfection. The house was recently renovated and listed for just over $1,000,000. It took a lot of years for the major architectural pieces in Dennis to be saved, but it's happening!
