My most lyrical photo Three silhouettes on a ridge of Mount Etna: dramatic sky, heavy grain of the film. The figures are reduced to silhouettes almost icons The composition is classical – low horizon, dominant sky, figures that give scale to the landscape.
There is something ancient here, almost biblical It looks like a procession, a pilgrimage Time here is archaic.

Some photographers wax lyrically the virtues of the sunset while others profess their love for the dawn of the new day, I think the reality of it is whether you are a morning person or not.
For myself sleeping in is 6am so my preference by default is the early morning light but also for myself I like the peace and solitude dawn brings to an otherwise busy location allowing you to really soak in the local flavor.
Similarly for me I like to see how and where the people live in the lands I visit not just what they have on display for tourists but a little peek behind the curtain so to speak.
This shot is of a residential area in Utrecht that I felt combines both ideals for me the early morning light and the places less visited giving the scene a peaceful easy feeling and a slice of Utrecht life.
I took this with my D750 and Nikon 28-300mm f/3.5-5.6 Lens at 112mm 1/20s, f/11 ISO 200 processed in LR, PS +Lumenzia, Topaz Denoise

my love for technique in ICM - Intentional Camera Motion
Intentional camera movement is carried out with a hand-held camera. It works with shutter speeds from around 1/4 second to four seconds in length.

A lyrical digression about photographic equipment on the way. My budget is $100 maximum for a companion on my upcoming not an easy trip - a $50 camera and a $50 lens.
film cameras are always a "lottery at a flea market" ..
For example, a creeping inter-frame distance can "nullify" all this complex, long eye-to-eye dance with an unfamiliar and wary model ...
I shoot a lot of portraits in my travels around the world.
And it's usually people I don't know at all.
For example, it's you. And you're on the street. And you're eating.
And here I am - I am a photographer, I ppeared and pokes a camera in your face..
it won’t work out that way..
a human approach is needed. But this is no longer about photography, but about psychology, as a feature of street photography...
So, when you have gone through this difficult and costly path - reached the end of the world and did not become a victim of yours curiosity, but safely reached the photo lab - you no longer want a surprise in the form of overlapping frames due to floating frame spacing, or stray light through a hole slow self-timer ... many have probably learned this lesson in life .. ))) - ?
And that is why I always test cameras after purchase. And before the trip. And after renovation. So random, not always meaningful portraits remain on the film.

Why am I bored doing the brick wall test?
ethnographic genre portrait in the travel I usually shoot on 135 film. And praise Eastman - it is the format of 35mm perforated cine-film that gives the necessary "warm-up with the approach" in street photography or Genre. No need to think how much is left out of 8 or 10 or 12 frames.. 36 is a lot, especially if you're greedy. And this is enough if you are greedy for impressions.
I always test cameras before the trip and often in my film there are random portraits, not always meaningful. Here is one more
For test here a companion for my next trip - here budget is $50 only - for a camera + lens.
The task of the test is a lyrical picture without a budget for equipment. A small camera that does not attract attention. Does not create dangerous situations during travel. And there will be no collapse of the world in case of loss of the camera.

Waxing lyrical a bit here... The ocean hums its own Rhapsody in Blue, and the waves can’t help but dance; a dance the sea has been practicing for centuries, this performance at Spoon Bay ending in a crescendo painted in salt, spray, and light.
Seemed fitting for this photo. With the rain still relentless, I’m dipping back into the archives.
That’s my poetic side done. Time now for a boys’ weekend and buck’s show - not much poetry in that, I suspect ;)

Probably my favourite from the Ferosh Collection by Lyrical Bizzare - Kayra I comes with top part and skirt part as separate together with headpiece and floral additions.
