Cars n Coffee was a weekly Saturday morning event that used to be held in Irvine, California where hundreds of proud drivers congregated to kick tires and have a cup of coffee.

A huge thanks to "fossiled" for suggesting that I re-invent this photo. It's a tighter shot of an image that I posted on February 19th, 2015.

Must be a story here. Is this how some of the construction workers get to the job site?

Land Rover Range Rover Classic (1970-96) Engine 3528 V8

Registration Number UEL 829 X (Bournemouth)

LAND ROVER SET

Introduced to the public in June 1970, the new Range Rover was launched as quote - A Car For All Reasons, boasting a top speed of around 100 mph (160 km/h), a towing capacity of 3.5 tons, spacious accommodation for five occupants, hydraulic disc brakes on all wheels, and a ground breaking four-speed, dual-range, permanent four-wheel drive system. First generation of the Range Rover initially powered by the 3528 cc Rover/Buick V8 detuned to 135 bhp. By 1990 a bored out version of the same engine was now 3947cc and for the 1993 model year further increased to 4275cc on the Long Wheelbase version. In 1981 the 4 door body was added to the existing 2 door

Like other Land Rover vehicles, most of the Range Rover's bodywork skin is constructed from lightweight aluminium, except for the two-section rear upper and lower tailgates, the rear corners adjacent to the tailgate and the bonnet on all but the earliest models. Apart from minor cosmetic changes the body design changed very little in its first decade. One of the first significant changes came in 1981, with the introduction of a four-door body. The first major push upmarket was in 1984, which saw the availability of leather trim, and automatic transmission. Followed in 1985 by replacing the instrument pod with a more modern one, and new door cards with walnut inlays. Externally the front received a more pedestrian friendly grille with horizontal slats, and optional front valance with two fog lights in 1985, the seat base was lowered, and door handles redesigned. The last major change to the interior took place in 1994, when the Range Rover was re-designated Classic upon the arrival of the replacement P38A version. The car gained a 'soft feel' safety dashboard (derived from that used in the facelifted Series 1 Discovery)

Few people realise (outside of Germany, anyway) that Zeppelin also manufactured cars, as I discovered in the Zeppelin Museum in Friedrichshafen, sitting beneath a full-scale reconstruction of a segment of the Hindenburg airship which is ENORMOUS.

The Zeppelin Maybach DS8 sported an 8.0 L (7978 cc, 487 cubic inches) V12 which made 149 kW; 203 PS (200 bhp) at a fairly low 3200 rpm, putting the DS8 among the most powerful production cars in the world at the time. Depending on the weight of the coachwork, a top speed of 171 km/h (106 mph) was possible.

In August 2012, a 1938 DS8 Roadster sold for €1.3 million at auction, fitted with a rare Variorex eight-speed gearbox (both the first 8-speed and first 8-speed manual gearbox) with a vacuum shift and is thought to be one of only 100 built.

Window Rock, Navajo: Tségháhoodzání, is a census-designated place that serves as the seat of government and capital of the Navajo Nation. Until 1936, the area was sparsely populated and known by the Navajo only by its ceremonial name Niʼ Ałníiʼgi, Center of the World.

Shown: 1930 Marquette

Marquette was a brand used on several different automobiles, most recently on Buick's companion make. The name Marquette was first used for an automobile when the Berwick Auto Car Company of Grand Rapids, Michigan, frequently took it as a model designation for their electric car in 1904. For General Motors, William Durant bought the Rainier Motor Car Company in May 1909, which was in severe financial trouble. A new company, the Marquette Motor Company was established in Saginaw, Michigan, to continue production of the luxurious Rainier motor car until 1911. Further, they manufactured parts for another luxury make belonging to General Motors, the Welch (1903–1911), and its cheaper sister car, the Welch-Detroit (1910–1911). Management was controlled by Buick officers. After Durant left GM for the first time in September 1910, it was tried to make both the Rainier and the Welch profitable. The Canadian Automotive Museum is an automobile museum located in Oshawa, Ontario, Canada. The museum features many Canadian-made cars as the automobile industry, specifically the Canadian division of the General Motors, known as General Motors Canada, which has always been at the forefront of Oshawa's economy. The museum was founded in 1962 by a group of Oshawa businessmen through the Oshawa Chamber of Commerce. The venture was initiated mainly to preserve the automotive history of Canada and to present this history in an educational and entertaining manner. Canadian Automotive Museum Inc is a charitable corporation and has been in operation since 1963. The museum is housed in a 25,000 sq ft (2,300 m2) building in downtown Oshawa that was originally the location of Ontario Motor Sales, a local car dealership, in the 1920s. The building maintains its original period architecture right down to the original elevator used to move cars to the second floor. The Museum is affiliated with: CMA, CHIN, and Virtual Museum of Canada. [Source: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canadian_Automotive_Museum]

Page is a city in Coconino County, Arizona, United States, near the Glen Canyon Dam and Lake Powell. Unlike other cities in the area, Page was founded in 1957 as a housing community for workers and their families during the construction of nearby Glen Canyon Dam on the Colorado River. In 1997, Antelope Canyon was discovered on Navajo land adjacent to Page. This natural slot canyon, formed by erosion, has created a steady increase in tourism for Page, as word spread of the beauty of the canyon.

Do you want a Las Vegas wedding you will remember fondly? The Little Vegas Chapel is here to make your dream wedding come true! They specialize in Viva Las Vegas weddings, incorporating some of the best pop culture elements from The King of Rock and Roll, Elvis Presley. Elvis’ love for Pink Cadillacs (like the one shown above at the chapel) were widely known. He himself owned the unique 1955 Cadillac Fleetwood Series, and 1961 Cadillac Coupe de Ville. Elvis also purchased a Cadillac Fleetwood Series 60 that he had painted a special “Elvis Rose” pink that he gifted to his mother, Gladys.

A very rare sight - just around 1400 first generation Azures (such as the one seen here) were built, and even adding in the second generation only gets the model to just over 2000 units or so. The Azure's twin, the Rolls-Royce Corniche (developed from the Bentley's platform and body) is even less common.

Vintage sports car at auto show in Kyalami, Jhb - 2017.

Rolls-Royce has used the Phantom name on full-sized luxury cars over the past century, and is the second longest-used automobile nameplate in the world after the Chevrolet Suburban. The Phantom is a low volume, hand-built limousine which, in earlier generations, was custom built to the customers desires & sometimes extravagant whims. As automobile manufacturing became more prolific, and vehicles from other manufacturers could be built in greater numbers and at reduced prices, the Phantom remained hand-built and production of individual models only began once the order was placed. The use of the name "phantom" is a long tradition of naming models after "ghosts". Earlier versions from Rolls-Royce consisted of the chassis and engine, then arrangements were made to customize the body and interior to whatever the buyer requested. The Phantom is popular with wealthy business people, royalty & celebrities who desire the best of everything, and want a car with exclusivity & elegance.

This Phantom was shot outside the Wynn Las Vegas in 2017.
