Lucca, (Tuscany- Italy) is known as one of the Italian's "Città d'arte" (Arts town), thanks to its intact Renaissance-era city walls and its very well preserved historic center, where, among other buildings and monuments, are located the Piazza dell'Anfiteatro, which has its origins in the second half of the 1st century A.D. and the Guinigi Tower, a 45-metre-tall (150 ft) tower that dates from the 1300s.
The city is also the birthplace of numerous world-class composers, including Giacomo Puccini, Alfredo Catalani, and Luigi Boccherini

It's a public square in the northeast quadrant of walled center of Lucca. The ring of buildings surrounding the square, follows the elliptical shape of the former second century Roman amphitheater of Lucca.

Basilica di San Frediano, (Basilica of San Frediano); first built in the sixth century, the church was largely rebuilt in the twelfth century. The mosaic on the facade was created in the thirteenth century by Berlinghiero Berlinghieri.
I still have many postcards bought during my travels. I was in Lucca once in 2016 , a very nice city not too far from Pisa. From wikipedia: " Lucca is a city on the Serchio river in Italy’s Tuscany region. It’s known for the well-preserved Renaissance walls encircling its historic city center and its cobblestone streets. Broad, tree-lined pathways along the tops of these massive 16th- and 17th-century ramparts are popular for strolling and cycling. Casa di Puccini, where the great opera composer was born, is now a house museum."
J'ai encore beaucoup de cartes postales achetées lors de mes voyages. J'étais à Lucca une fois en 2016, une très belle ville pas trop loin de Pise.
