Do you see where they are going to? Or do you see the direction and trend in the camera market?
Since the launch of Sony A7 series lately, it seems clear that camera-makers are promoting the small body full frame sensor cameras in the near future. Nikon will be launching the Nikon DF, the retro style full frame camera soon. The low end market has been destroyed by camphone or smartphones .
Now the camera-makers want to focus on the high end market.
Everyone wants to get a better camera such as these full frame cameras. The question is whether you are getting better pictures when you have a better camera?
I am guessing 50% of the current full frame users can get better quality pictures from an entry level cameras. This is true especially when they are using auto or semi-auto (such as aperture priority mode) in their full frame cameras. Actually entry level cameras are engineered to produce good pictures in auto-everything mode. :o)
Happy Sunday!
This is a blind shot. A shot taken without looking at the LCD or viewfinder. You don't need full frame camera to take these shots!

This immersive image offers a dreamlike view inside MIKI GAKKI BASS SIDE—a specialty bass guitar store in Osaka’s Amerikamura district, renowned among musicians for its wall-to-wall inventory of top-tier basses. The photo captures an entire section of the store’s display, showcasing multiple rows of Fender Jazz and Precision-style bass guitars, expertly arranged and ready to be played.
The instruments span a spectrum of finishes—from classic sunburst and glossy black to candy apple red and arctic white—each hanging with a tag detailing specs, pricing, and model names. Prominently featured in the front row are Fender Player Jazz Basses, known for their blend of affordability, playability, and iconic tone. With prices hovering around ¥86,900, this lineup appeals to both entry-level musicians and intermediate players looking to upgrade.
The carefully lit, wood-floored interior enhances the showroom effect, allowing each guitar’s details to shine—from tortoiseshell pickguards and maple necks to active electronics and custom pickups. The setting is not just a retail environment; it’s a bass-lover’s paradise, where each instrument is treated with reverence and care.
The presentation emphasizes Japan’s culture of precision and curation, and MIKI GAKKI’s reputation for offering world-class instruments in pristine condition is clearly on display. Whether you're a touring bassist, a gear collector, or simply a fan of beautiful instruments, this visual feast of finishes and forms captures the essence of a flagship music retailer dedicated entirely to the low end.
The hills rising on the far side of the canal give a clue to the need for the Grand Union's surveyors to plan a steep slight of locks at Foxton. The Market Harborough Branch is on the level of the base of Foxton Locks, so the flight of locks isn't on my walk, but I do get to see the locks from the lowend.

Then Nebuchadnezzar spake, and said, Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, who hath sent his angel, and delivered his servants that trusted in him, and have changed the king's word, and yielded their bodies, that they might not serve nor worship any god, except their own God.

Trailer in the back of an abandoned low-rent motel complex. All of these rooms and trailers were strewn with a rotting mixture of garbage and disposable personal belongings but, surprisingly, almost no evidence of partying. No crushed empties, no overflowing ashtrays, no crack pipes, no used condoms. A relief, frankly, but also perplexing.

DJ ROC - Practice What U Preach (CD/LP+CD)
個人的にはTorture/Sensationalを彷彿とさせる場面が多々。イイ意味で聴き易く、あの『WIre』誌が編集部のBGMとしてもピックアップして紹介したのも納得です。LPにはCDも封入。(Duck N’ Cover / DNC1204CD)

I'm not usually one for buying ultra-cheap audio gear, but I made an exception for this little oddity that I found at the Reuseum earlier last year for a whopping eight bucks. This model is seemingly better in terms of build quality than your average run-of-the-mill soundesign product. It appears to be an obscure model in their line-up as I can't seem to find any information about it anywhere on the internet. Occasional searches on ebay and google have provided no information or other copies (or any other black-faced component stereo gear from Soundesign for that matter) I bought it because the price was right on it and I'd never seen one like it before. For Soundesign, it's much better than the usual stuff they put out, however, it's still a Soundesign, and... well..... not all that great.
It does work quite well as a preamp for one of my turntables though....
Trailer in the back of an abandoned low-rent motel complex. A big chunk of the roof caved in, the elements unabated, the line between interior and exterior blurred. I couldn't help but wonder what it would be like to live there, huddled, wrapped in damp blankets, wincing at the driving rain finding its way in, civilization crumbling away into guttering pockets of squabbling over chicken bones and broken knives.

I did a quick comparison of prices on the 'Muller Yoghurt 200g'. The closest equivalent I could find was Muller strawberry yoghurt 175g (at Tesco), now 60p. Comparing with the Safeway price of 41p, on a per-gram basis this equates to 4% average annual inflation.

Manitowoc Hotel
Constructed 1927, by 1st National BANK.
Using a brick venier, fireproof sinderblock walls, steel beam and girder.
A pair of cozy OTIS elevators zipped all 9 levels.
Southeast lower levels was a two story bank lobby, west were offices overlooking it.
In it's 1937 north addition, were 35 hotelrooms, was a "Rosepetal" classy restaurant with above conference hall...(basement was deep & high, for kitchen) The Brick, creme window crowns and 2 levels facing street level were a quality material, while the north and west were common brick.
Topfloor, was a Lakeview Tavern in Southeast corner. While accomodating Lake Michigan vistas for penthouse suites, the couple in the newer north addition with fireplaces and flanking stained glass windows, ceramic baths!
Later, the lowend rooms to rent were the 5 stories below, hap-hazardly converted between clogged iron plumbing and fuses.
Over time, the classy BANK Lobby ceiling was dropped for HVAC Flouresent lights and paneled. Becoming an "70's bar/disco"teque,... sad!
My take on the Big Muff, using the "Der Muff Green Russian - Distortion kit" from Das Musikding as a base and the Blackout Effectors Musket Fuzz as an inspiration for mods. It has the Focus (Lowend) and Mids knobs as found in the first incarnation of the Musket and a smoothness switch I came up with myself.

Promotional leaflet for the opening of Netto, Tovil (Maidstone), 1995.
This is the cover of a 4 page flyer distributed to houses Maidstone. If anyone is interested I'll scan the two bargain-filled inside pages; an unsettling mix of brands you've heard of, and many you haven't....
Netto was the first of the cheap supermarkets in Maidstone. Aldi appeared in the UK around the same time (I'd seen them in Birmingham) but didn't reach Maidstone until some years later. Netto no longer exists in the UK and this store is now a Lidl. At the time I heard it said that 'Netto is Swedish for tax-free' (true?), and I think this claim was used in some of their advertising but it doesn't appear here.
A little bit later, as I recall, another discount chain-store opened in Maidstone. To shop there you needed to sign up for their membership card (something to do with tax?) else you had to pay a higher price. That store is still with us though.....Matalan.
