Hypopyrrhus pyrohypogaster
(Red-bellied Grackle / Cacique candela)
The red-bellied grackle is endemic to Colombia where it is found in all three Andean ranges at altitudes of 800 to 2,400m (2,600 to 7,900ft) above sea level.
Its natural habitat is tropical forest, but the trees are increasingly being felled for timber and to make way for agriculture, and little virgin forest remains within its range.
H. pyrohypogaster was formerly classified as "endangered" by the International Union for Conservation of Nature but in 2012 the threat level was lowered to "vulnerable". This is on the basis that, although its forest habitat remains under pressure, it has been found at some new locations where it was not known before. The total population is now estimated to be in the range 2,500 to 9,999 individuals.

This photo exemplifies the difficulty with hiking and loving our two dogs back then. I held the leashes to restrain our dogs, while my spouse took photos. (I would have been on my knees to capture this cute juvenile as it sauntered ever closer.)
And when hiking for almost 18 years while living in Alaska, I seldom carried a camera. For the same reason.
But I pilfered my spouse's raw files to celebrate the bear lovers on Flickr that I virtually know and admire. Thank you!

An unusual title I know. My inspiration for this shot was from a digital artist and thought I'd do my own version. I think I'm going to start a casual series of these types of captures however. Y'all know I love my stories or just posing, and I do love my erotica and porn. Yes guys, I'm getting back to that. I keep getting asked if I've abandoned doing any porn. I haven't. lol But I love very sweet and romantic shots I run into sometimes too. I thought this one was cute..

The Centennial Seawalk stretches from Ambleside to Dundarave, and is favoured by walkers and joggers. Walking the Centennial Seawalk is a favourite activity of local residents. Enjoy the spectacular views of Burrard Inlet while you walk the seawall.
John Lawson Park, located at the foot of 17th Street at the waterfront, is the mid-point of the Seawalk, and a lovely place for a waterfront stroll.

Aiko and me off hiking, seeing that fog covered the fjord I figured that it was smartest to walk the opposite way.
So we did.

The colourful and delightful chaffinch is a regular garden visitor across the UK. Look out for it hopping about on the ground under birdtables and hedges.
