These lovely pink members of the cockatoo family are common in Australia with their subtle shades of grey and rose pink. This is reflected in the scientific name which translates as "dawn-crested rosy cap"

Have a lovely weekend all my Flickr friends. I took this photo in a local churchyard minutes before I heard of the passing of Prince Philip. My thoughts are with the Queen and the Royal Family.

Provence, in the south of France, with its small perched villages, fascinating cities, natural beauties, following in the footsteps of great impressionist painters such as Van Gogh or Cézanne... is a land rich in suggestions, perfumes, flavors and colors that enchant with their incredible elegance.

Thought I found a way

Thought I found a way out (Found)

But you never go away (Never go away)

So I guess I gotta stay now

Oh, I hope some day I'll make it out of here

Even if it takes all night or a hundred years

Need a place to hide, but I can't find one near

Wanna feel alive, outside I can't fight my fear

Isn't it lovely, all alone

Heart made of glass, my mind of stone

Tear me to pieces, skin to bone

Hello, welcome home

Walking out of time

Looking for a better place (Looking for a better place)

Something's on my mind

Always in my head space

But I know someday I'll make it out of here

Even if it takes all night or a hundred years

Need a place to hide, but I can't find one near

Wanna feel alive, outside I can't fight my fear

Isn't it lovely, all alone

Heart made of glass, my mind of stone

Tear me to pieces, skin to bone

Hello, welcome home

Woah, yeah

Yeah, ah

Woah, woah

Hello, welcome home

Echinacea is a genus, or group of herbaceous flowering plants in the daisy family. The genus Echinacea has ten species, which are commonly called coneflowers. They are found only in eastern and central North America, where they grow in moist to dry prairies and open wooded areas. They have large, showy heads of composite flowers, blooming from early to late summer. Species are herbaceous, drought-tolerant perennial plants growing up to 140 cm in height. The flowers are collected together into single rounded heads at the ends of long peduncles. Like all members of the sunflower family, the flowering structure is a composite inflorescence, with rose-colored (rarely yellow or white) florets arranged in a prominent, somewhat cone-shaped head – 'cone-shaped' because the petals of the outer ray florets tend to point downward (are reflexed) once the flower head opens, thus forming a cone. 36057

Canna or canna lily is the only genus of flowering plants in the family Cannaceae, consisting of 10 species. It has been cultivated by Native Americans in tropical America for thousands of years and was one of the earliest domesticated plants in the Americas. The starchy root is edible. The plants are large tropical and subtropical perennial herbs with a rhizomatous rootstock. The broad, flat, alternate leaves that are such a feature of this plant, grow out of a stem in a long, narrow roll and then unfurl. The leaves are typically solid green, but some cultivars have glaucose, brownish, maroon, or even variegated leaves. 50128

Plumeria is a genus of flowering plants in the dogbane family, Apocynaceae. Most species are deciduous shrubs or small trees. The species variously are indigenous to Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean, and as far south as Brazil and north as Florida, but are grown as cosmopolitan ornamentals in warm regions. Common names for plants in the genus vary widely according to region, variety, and whim, but Frangipani or variations on that theme are the most common. Plumeria flowers are most fragrant at night in order to lure sphinx moths to pollinate them. The flowers yield no nectar, however, and simply trick their pollinators. The moths inadvertently pollinate them by transferring pollen from flower to flower in their fruitless search for nectar. 14252
