I once read a book called The Five Love Languages. The book taught that there are five major ways that people express and receive love. Here are the five love languages in no particular order:

1. Physical Attraction

2. Acts of Service

3. Words of Affirmation

4. Giving Gifts

5. Quality Time

The way you show love, and the way you accept it may not be the same. For example, a husband may show his love to his wife by buying her a gift, but what really makes her feel loved is quality time. This means he can come home with diamonds and roses but if he doesn't take time to talk with her at the dinner table and watch a movie with her, she won't feel loved. On the other hand a woman may serve her husband by cooking or washing his clothes, but the thing that makes him feel loved the most is when she touches him in meaningful ways. That means he can come home to a nice meal and see is underwear folded on the sofa, but if she doesn't meet him at the door with a hug and a kiss, he won't feel loved.

So I've learned that it is important to speak your spouse's love language. Communitcate love in the way they receive it. If you love getting gifts but your partner loves quality time, then the way you feel about getting a new camera is the way they will feel when you take them away for the weekend. If you love sex, (which I do too) and they love being served, then the way you feel after a good... cough, you know, is how they will feel when you wash their car. Ok the two feelings don't exactly compare but you understand what I mean. Being loved the way you receive it brings a different level of satisfaction. So let your loved one know what speaks to you.

My wife knows that she can spend time with me, get me gifts, serve me, and even touch me physically, but nothing makes me feel loved like a few words of encouragement like, "Babe, you were wonderful tonight." wink.

Maybe that's why I love flickr so much. I read my comments and I get so many words of affirmation. I feel loved when people appreciate my photos and my art. I love being encouraged. It's the main way I share love. It's my Love Language.

DO NOT REPLICATE WITHOUT PERMISSION

Going through a breakup is never easy, and it can be even harder to jump back into the dating pool afterward. If you're unsure how to get started, you can do a few things to make the process easier.

First, take time to heal and reflect on what you want in a relationship.

Once you're ready, reach out to your friends and family and let them know you're open to meeting new people. They could set you up with someone they know or give you some good advice.

You can also try online dating. It can be daunting at first, but there are plenty of Fish in the sea! Start by creating a profile on sites like Ashley Madison that reflects who you are and what you're looking for. Then, take your time messaging people and getting to know them before you meet up in person. And don't forget to have fun! Dating should be enjoyable, so relax and go with the flow.

What to do before starting

If you're considering joining the millions of people who are already online dating, here are a few things to consider before taking the plunge. You can see more here and choose then.

It's essential to make sure that you're ready to start dating. That means being honest about your intentions, goals, and expectations. It also means being honest about who you are and what you're looking for in a partner.

Once you're confident that you're ready to start online dating, the next step is to choose a reputable and trustworthy dating site. There are many great options out there, so take your time and research to find the one that's right for you.

It's important to remember that online dating is just one way to meet people. It's not the be-all and end-all of dating, so don't put all your eggs in one basket. Be open to meeting people in other ways, such as through friends or social events. By following these simple tips, you'll be well on your way to finding success with online dating.

Create a profile that stands out

When it comes to online dating, your profile is your first impression. You want to make sure that it's a good one! Here are a few tips for creating a profile that will help you stand out.

First, be sure to include a recent photo of yourself. This will help potential matches get a sense of what you look like.

Second, take the time to fill out all the fields in your profile. Make sure to fill them in - potential matches will want to know more about you.

Third, make sure to proofread your profile before you publish it. Typos can be a turn-off for some people, so you'll want to avoid them if possible.

And finally, don't forget to have fun! Online dating should be enjoyable, so don't take yourself too seriously. If you follow these tips, you'll be well on your way to creating an online dating profile that stands out from the rest.

Send the perfect first message.

Online dating can be a great way to meet new people, but knowing how to send the perfect first message is essential. The most important thing is to be yourself and to sound friendly. Start by saying something you noticed in their profile, and then ask a question about something you have in common. For example, you could say, "I noticed you're into hiking. I'm planning a trip to hike the Appalachian Trail next month. Have you ever hiked it?" This shows that you're interested in getting to know them better, and it gives them a chance to respond and start a conversation. Keep the conversation going by asking follow-up questions and sharing your own stories. Before you know it, you'll be sending messages back and forth all night!

Make your date feel comfortable.

It's important to remember that each person is unique and deserves to be treated with respect. When meeting someone for the first time, it's essential to make them feel comfortable. One way to do this is to ask questions and listen carefully to their answers. Showing genuine interest in what they say will make them feel valued and appreciated. It's also important to be aware of your body language and ensure that you're exuding confidence and warmth. Making eye contact, smiling, and maintaining an open posture will help put your date at ease and let them know that you're interested in getting to know them better. Online dating can be a great way to connect with new people, but ensuring that your date feels comfortable is vital.

By asking questions, listening carefully, and being aware of your body language, you can set the stage for a fun and enjoyable date.

The best first-date ideas

First dates can be nerve-wracking experiences, but they don't have to be.

The best first-date ideas allow you to get to know your date while having fun. A reasonable first date should be something that you both enjoy, giving you a chance to talk and learn about each other.

A great first date idea is to walk in the park. This gives you a chance to chat and get some fresh air simultaneously. You could also go for coffee or lunch. This is a relaxed setting where you can talk and get to know each other without feeling too much pressure.

Whatever you do, make sure you choose an activity that you will enjoy to start your relationship on the right foot.

The birds were only silhouettes, but I saved the happy couple anyway. We are all thoroughly and without a doubt loved by the Living God who created us. He sings His love song.
