My Cairn terrier companion after I had been unwell, was a Houdini, escaping from our and friends' houses and gardens, mischievous and knowing, sometimes appearing to understand what I was thinking before I, myself, understood it.

Crazy Tuesday - Sidelight

This is our lovely Rhubarb, so affectionate bombarding us with licks and kisses when we arrived at our daughters house to take care of both her and Goose, my daughters other yorkie.

Yes butter wouldn't melt

That is of course until she's let out into the garden before bedtime. Then it becomes a skill of wits attempting to get her in again.

Rhubarb likes to chase birds, bees, moths, come to think of it, basically anything that moves.

And boy did we have a task on our hands, getting her in that night.

This is a different photo of the lost dog Tank that showed up at my gate one day. This was shot the same day as the last photo but processed a bit different. Such a sweet dog. His soul was so kind and loving. I'll never forget that.

“We're born with millions

Of little lights shining in the dark

And they show us the way

One lights up, every time you feel love in your heart

One dies when it moves away … “

ALL THE LITTLE LIGHTS - PASSENGER

Last night I went to Africa

deep within the Mara Triangle

smouldering sunset deep-set escarpment

steeped in mysterious threats entangled

my thoughts were warm and drowsily secure

I found myself beneath the trees

cradled by the earthen curvature

like a hammock my body began to sway

took up the dance of when we were free

those schoolgirl friendships and memories

the stories told in Swahili

we pronounced Kenya Keenya

we still do so does the Queen

I guess because our parents did

in the absence of any inbetween

I remember how the English school children laughed

listening to my pronunciation

they would fall about tears rolling down

their cheeks unchecked not meaning any cruel intention

my best friend came from Nairobi

where she still lives and works

she is a cartographer very brilliant

I admire her always and her endearing quirks

at boarding school she was very serious

I on the other hand was very silly (big surprise, huh! ; 0)

I looked up to her like she was my big sister

she often told me I was a silly billy

I got into many scrapes

I was a tomboy and quite fearless you see

I would climb and graze my knees

trying to climb to the top of a tree

once I fell out and landed with a bump

knocked the wind right out of me

but it did not stop me from trying to conquer

that old and much-loved Acacia tree

I hear the sweet flute sound of the longest-knecked giraffes

and the trumpet of a rhinocerous

I awake to find myself in England

with all my cats beside me making a loveable fuss : 0)

This is dedicated to a special person for whom several lights went out all of a sudden. She brings light to so many and I want her to know that I am shining a light for her now. I pray the darkness will not last long and many lights will be lit for her and lead her through to a safe haven where one day given time the light within her will once again burn brightly xxxxx

Samson passed away several years ago now but of course he is thought of daily. He had a super wonderful happy life.

Incompatible, it don't matter though

'Cause someone's bound to hear my cry

Speak out if you do

You're not easy to find

Is it possible Mr. Loveable

Is already in my life?

Right in front of me

Or maybe you're in disguise

Who doesn't long for someone to hold

Who knows how to love you without being told

Somebody tell me why I'm on my own

If there's a soulmate for everyone

Here we are again, circles never end

How do I find the perfect fit

There's enough for everyone

But I'm still waiting in line

Who doesn't long for someone to hold

Who knows how to love you without being told

Somebody tell me why I'm on my own

If there's a soulmate for everyone

If there's a soulmate for everyone

Most relationships seem so transitory

They're all good but not the permanent one

Who doesn't long for someone to hold

Who knows how to love you without being told

Somebody tell me why I'm on my own

If there's a soulmate for everyone

Who doesn't long for someone to hold

Who knows how to love you without being told

Somebody tell me why I'm on my own

If there's a soulmate for everyone

If there's a soulmate for everyone

My Bob has had a rough week... last Thursday we had to rush him to the emergency vet because he was staining to make.... he was yowling all over the house, staining while he was walking.... the vet said his bladder was full and he had a blockage.... after flushing him out in both areas, we took him home... a few days and he still acted strange... constantly going in and out of the box and nothing... but then he did make and what a relief...

On Monday I took him to our vet and she did a lot of tests, even a urine culture.... thank goodness his levels are not bad and he's acting like his old self.... he is 17 years old!

She put him on an antibiotic for a week and I'm hoping that will also help him feel better.

It's so scary and heartbreaking when you know they don't feel well and they can't tell you what is wrong...

Thank God he is doing better... so we want to wish everyone a Happy Caturday and enjoy the rest of the weekend!!

Enjoy the day and rest of the weekend...

I will take this time to apologize for the lack of commenting.... this is such a busy time of the season with me taking care of so many Monarch caterpillars.... I think they must have an internal clock that is ticking because everything they are doing is much faster... that includes eating and pooping!! The Monarchs I will be releasing and tagging will live for 8-9 months and take the long flight down to Mexico....

unlike the ones that we see earlier in the summer that only live 2-6 weeks.

To date, I have released 326 with 44 in chrysalis and a ton of caterpillars and tiny hatchlings... and eggs I haven't counted!!

He is my buddy and my shadow... at the end of May is my daughter's wedding and we will be away for three nights.... my sister in law will be with him, but I know he'll be looking all over the house for me.... it's so sad....

Leo was one of my loveable grand dogs. He was a hurricane Katrina survivor and just a puppy at that time. He was relocated to Philadelphia where my daughter and her family adopted him. He recently passed away at the age of 15 but he had a wonderful, happy, pampered life.

The Tungamah Silos were the first silos to be painted in North East Victoria and set a precedence for three more to follow in the next 18 months. They were painted by Western Australia street artist Sobrane Simcock with stage one completed in February 2018.

The initial mural depicted dancing Brolgas on the tall concrete silos and the much loved Australian Kookaburra on the short silo.

Then in September 2019, Sobrane returned to paint around the Kookaburra to include the loveable Pink and Grey Galah, a Humming bird, a cheeky owl hiding in the leaves, a Sulphur-crested Cockatoo, two small wrens and a white Ibis, sitting in the thick foliage of a gum tree.

💕🐾🐾💕

I met Gracie on a hike this past weekend at O'Hara Mill conservation area. She's a 9 year old Bernese Mountain dog. She decided to take a well deserved rest after a hike and a swim. She's a beautiful, sweet girl. So happy to have made her acquaintance.

Thank you so much for stopping by.

A jumbo marshmallow who is spending the weekend with us...

along with his fur cousins, that don't seem to mind... they just ignore him!!

and I miss him every single day... but my Andrew is always in my heart...

Breast Cancer took the life of this lovable boy....

9/22/2007-6/23/2019

He was such an amazing boy... when I volunteered at the animal shelter and would have to clean his cage, he'd jump right out and onto my shoulder... I told my husband, you have to meet Andrew, he's one of a kind... we adopted him and every single person that met him, fell in love... he was the kind of cat that loved to be wrapped around your neck or on your shoulder... we called him a monkey boy.... and for 12 years he slept next to my pillow!!

Thinking of him always warms my heart and brings a tear... but we got to enjoy him as long as we did....

from our little Lola, who will be 16 on November 1st!!!!

Bitter are the ones who've tried to change me to their liking unsuccesfully. I am who I am which is me unapologetically. Sweet, loveable, selectively confrontational, open, honest, guarded...a pleasant enigma in a beautiful package..
