PALM BAY, Cliftoville Kent, a area along the cliff tops, mainly for dog walks, runners ect, with the councils policy to let the grass areas go wild, is a sheer delight, the area is now filled with wild flowers, and tall grasses bees and butterfly's, house sparrows galore. Also a lot of meadow pipits, many with food for the youngsters in the long weedy areas, shows just how a small policy change has brought so much life to a area not known for it.

It's really an unseasonably warm late Winter with temperatures up to 18 C. Quite amazing. And that weather brought out lots of insects.
Here's a Marmalade Hoverfly; if you look at its wings, for example, you will see they are entirely in mint condition. Nu sight of wear yet. Amazingly beautiful; and she's happily collecting pollen on Crocus.

The Sword-billed Hummingbird is a charismatic species from Andean South America. It is found from Venezuela and Colombia in the north to Bolivia in the south. The species belongs to a monotypic genus, Ensifera, and is quite different from all other hummingbirds; metallic green and bronzed overall, with a black bill that is slightly upcurved and longer than the body length. This is the only bird species with a bill length that exceeds the body length. When seen perched, the species usually holds its bill quite upright, presumably because of balance issues stemming from this long and relatively heavy structure.

En 1845, pour permettre à la route départementale 13 de traverser Castelmoron, un pont suspendu fut construit sur le Lot ; il débouchait sur l'emplacement de vieille église du xiiie siècle qui fut démolie. La construction de ce pont changea radicalement la ville dont l'axe devient perpendiculaire au Lot.
La nouvelle église (l'actuelle) est construite sur l'emplacement de l'ancien cimetière suivant les plans de l'architecte Leboucher. Elle a été consacrée le 30 août 1853 par l'évêque d'Agen, Mgr Jean-Aimé de Levezou de Vezins. En 1859, le temple protestant s'élèvera à la sortie de la ville. En 1871, le vieux château est acheté par la veuve de Félix Solar et entièrement transformé tel que son mari, natif de Castelmoron et mort en 1870, l'avait voulu et choisi . Son architecture nouvelle, comprenant de nombreuses structures en bois (galerie et balcons) prenait son inspiration dans l'Alhambra de Grenade et la mosquée de Cordoue, imitant en cela le casino mauresque d'Arcachon. Le « Château Solar » sera acheté par la municipalité en 1902 et deviendra l'hôtel de ville.
In 1845, to allow the departmental road 13 to cross Castelmoron, a suspension bridge was built over the Lot; it led to the site of the old 13th century church which was demolished. The construction of this bridge radically changed the town, the axis of which became perpendicular to the Lot.
The new church (the current one) was built on the site of the old cemetery according to the plans of the architect Leboucher. It was consecrated on August 30, 1853 by the Bishop of Agen, Mgr Jean-Aimé de Levezou de Vezins. In 1859, the Protestant temple was built at the exit of the town. In 1871, the old castle was bought by the widow of Félix Solar and completely transformed as her husband, a native of Castelmoron who died in 1870, had wanted and chosen. Its new architecture, including many wooden structures (gallery and balconies) took its inspiration from the Alhambra in Granada and the mosque of Cordoba, imitating in this the Moorish casino of Arcachon. The "Château Solar" was purchased by the municipality in 1902 and became the town hall.

INDONESIEN, Bali - Rund um den Meerestempel Pura Tanah Lot
Der Tempel liegt auf einer Felsspitze im Meer dicht am Ufer. Auf dem Fußweg ist Tanah Lot – ohne dabei nass zu werden – nur bei Ebbe zu erreichen. Vom Strand aus erreicht man den Tempel nach einem 50 Meter langen Gang über rundgewaschene Steine und feinen dunklen Sand, um zur Felseninsel zu gelangen. Dort angekommen folgt ein kurzer Aufstieg Richtung Tempel, wo ein Zaun den Eintritt zum eigentlichen Tempel verwehrt. Im inneren Hof (jeroan), dessen Zugang den Gläubigen vorbehalten ist, reihen sich die mehrstöckigen, pagodenähnlichen Schreine (merus) auf, die den Götterberg Meru repräsentieren. Im Falle von Tanah Lot ragen fünf merus in den Himmel. Der Zugang ist auch bei Flut möglich, wenn Tanah Lot seinen eigentlichen Inselcharakter erlangt, weil es dann komplett vom Wasser umspült ist.
In einer kleinen Höhle am Fuße des Tempelfelsens befindet sich eine Süßwasserquelle, die somit quasi im Meer entspringt. Sie gilt als heilig und wird ständig von Priestern bewacht. Gegenüber der Quelle befindet sich in den am Festland gelegenen Klippen eine weitere Höhle, die Ular Suci. Hier leben die heiligen Schlangen, die ebenfalls von Priestern betreut werden. Obwohl die Schlangen hochgiftig sind, haben sie angeblich noch nie gebissen.
Der Tempel ist neben Balis Reisfeldern das beliebteste und bekannteste Fotomotiv auf Bali.

Le site de Montcuq est situé sur une colline verte qui domine le cours de la Barguelonnette et les vignobles de chasselas. Les rues médiévales, parfois en escalier, toujours pentues, montent vers le dôme rocheux dit « La Roque », couronné d'un haut donjon solitaire, vertical, rectiligne, fait d'une tour et d'une tourelle rectangulaire. Le tout culmine à 24 mètres de haut. Le donjon est le seul vestige d'un château fort.
Montcuq est un peu « divisée en deux ». En effet, le véritable village est construit sur le haut de la colline et c'est là que l'on retrouve la place principale, le marché, les ruelles typiques, les deux églises, Saint-Privât et Saint-Hilaire... Mais la ville s'est étendue notamment vers une petite banlieue avec le petit quartier de Saint-Jean et une petite zone industrielle et commerciale qui longe la rivière.

I found a lot of wild raspberry bushes (really a lot!) in the forest near my summer cottage. Taste of berries is amazing - so sweet! And they are so juicy! An incredible burst of flavour! We eat them every day. So delicious! 😍

Kuksa is usually used for water, tea, coffee... It's for outdoor lovers in the North, because it's ideal for extreme temperatures. It holds cold or warm drinks and it's good for picking berries. Coffee has an interesting taste, it smells of wood 😊 It's really good cup for camping, trekking, fishing, hunting... This kuksa is equipped with a gear carabiner, so it can be easily attached to the belt.
