around 2:30am i woke up to the most saddest & terrified mews outside. the neighbours were having a semi loudish gathering, which drew kitty's sad & desperate pleas for help.
a couple of them came out to check on the poor thing, it was thought kitty was maybe stuck on a roof. after maybe over an hour of still hearing the cries, i went out to investigate.
a little black kitty, just a few months old, came running to me, crying for help. the poor little thing was just terrified.
i knelt down to pet little kitty, and as i went to stand up, kitty wrapped it's little paws around my arm & cried as if to beg me to stay.
i stayed for a few minutes, but it was coming onto 4 am and i was in my pyjamas. with much turmoil, i went back inside.
kitty kept crying, but now knew where the crazy cat lady lived. kitties in peril have that instinct, you know.
directly under my bedroom window is where kitty planted itself.
up i got again. this time armed with a food dish, a box & a blanket.
kitty was so hungry and so scared to be alone.
to the internet i went, with a plea for anyone awake to give kitty a warm place to sleep until a solution was found. thankfully, my friend becca answered!! shortly before she contacted me, the mews had stopped. the party next door disbanded, and i had been in the house for about 15 minutes. i realized kitty may have moved on, seeking someone else who might be up.
back outside in my jammies & slippers i went. kitty was nowhere to be found. up & down my street. up & down the next. back up & down mine. calling. listening. rattling food. no mews.
becca got in her car and drove around. then she picked me up and we drove around and around and around some more.
finally gave up, she pulled into my driveway. as she got out of her car, little kitty came running out from under the porch! silly kitty was under there THE WHOLE TIME! we named him dexter, although, kitty may very well be a She.
we fed kitty some more, still starving. i packed up some food & litter, we piled kitty into a big box then off becca went to give kitty a warm place to snuggle until the humane society opened.
i still think about kitty. i regret not keeping him. the dog i'm currently living with is TERRIFIED of cats, and i don't know the kitty i already have well enough to know how she'd react to a new addition.
plus i'm moving soon. i know one future roommate is about as crazy for cats as i am, but i don't know the other one.
plus i can't really afford to get TWO cats fixed at the same time..
but kitty was just so starved for love. that kitty is going to grow up to be one of those devoted cats. the kind that just LOVE you and TRUST you right to the ends of the universe.
within an hour of kitty being dropped off at the humane society, a news article was published. they had to euthanize the sicker kitties because they are just so incredibly full. they took in 200 cats, and even after having a BOGO sale on cats, only 23 were adopted.
sadly, this Inn is also full. my heart is broken.

A short time after we took this photo on Telegraph Ave., the kitty was gone. Hope he found a happy new home
I found this beautiful cat on the roof of my home 2 days ago... I gave her some food at the beggining, and after that, she stayed at home every single minute!
I´m not sure if i´m gonna keep it or not, but what I´m sure about is that she´s absolutely beautiful... and I made her that necklace as a welcome present :)
I named her Sadie (because of The Beatles song) and Vedder (because of Pearl Jam´s singer, Eddie Vedder)
