Castle-farm of Oultremont
The castle-farm of Oultremont in Warnant has been the ancestral residence of the Counts of Oultremont since its construction in the 16th century. Built on a wooded site, with its farmhouse with two barns, its chapel and its gardens, the castle is a remarkable ensemble, witnessing the evolution of defensive architecture from the Middle Ages to the end of modern times. It is undoubtedly in a dungeon that its origin must be sought. In 1636, the first castle was destroyed and burnt down by Croatian militia during the Thirty Years' War.
The present edifice, however, dates mostly from the 17th and 18th century and was built in typical Mosan style, blending red bricks and grey stones.
The castle grounds are equipped with several harquebusieres. Although the castles of this period no longer play a strategic role, they still serve as places of refuge where people go to feel safe during the many wars that are fought on the territory of the Principality of Liège. Their walls still provide protection from a band of looters or deserters.
The House of Oultremont has its roots in the same village since the 11th century, which makes it one of the oldest families in Belgium. It is a very rare case in the eventful and troubled history of Belgium that a family should remain in possession of the place of which it bears the name uninterruptedly since the Middle Ages.
PLEASE COMMENT IF YOU FAVE!
Found this at a yard sale!
Right now it's holding 31 figs.
There is a piece of glass that slides in front, but I couldn't get a good shot with it in.
There is some unrevealed figs in there, which I think you'll like.
Thanks!

Harvey has flooded the Houston area with almost 52 inches of rain
So far, close to 94,000 homes have been damaged or destroyed in the historic flooding, the BBC reported Sept. 1. At least 40 people have died as a result of the storm.
Harvey flooded not only Texas but almost everything in his path all the way to Kentucky!

Or, I found a peanut! Here is the story:
While photographing other birds, I was seeing a stream of magpies emerging from a clump of spruce trees carrying peanuts and flying off to hide them. At the peak of activity, there were probably a dozen magpies involved so I went to see what was up.
What I found was a number of magpies rummaging through a bunch of dried grasses mixed with paper, feathers, leaves and other materials. And they were pulling out peanuts. I quickly realized some unfortunate squirrel had its winter nest removed from the branches of a spruce tree and dumped on the ground. The nest was stuffed with its cache of peanuts that it had spent a long time collecting. I'll never know if the magpies, the wind, or some other critter did the initial damage.
The squirrel soon made an appearance and alternated between chasing the looters away (including blue jays), recovering its peanuts, and dragging its nesting material back up into the tree. Sometimes it just sat and ate a peanut. I guess chasing birds takes energy!
I felt sorry for the squirrel, as it probably took a lot of time and effort to build the thick, warm nest and stash so many peanuts in it. Of course, the magpies were unconcerned with the plight of the squirrel. They were merely taking advantage of an opportunity. The squirrel was doing its best to limit its losses but was not overly successful.
Photo descriptions:
Top Left - Black-billed magpie rummaging through the nesting material.
Top Right - Magpies showing off their peanut plunder. Many dozens of the peanuts were flown from the squirrel's cache to the magpies' hiding spots.
Bottom Left - Red squirrel recovering nesting material.
Bottom Centre - A blue Jay gets involved in the heist (they were not as persistent as the magpies).
Bottom Right - Rest & snack time. The offended red squirrel eating a red-skinned peanut.
Some new sculpting tools for details and a procreate test pack thing. So i can try which one is better for me. Greenstuff or procreate.

Garett had some epic products, ranging from modern to ww2, with which I'm in love XD
Also got some dope stuff from some EG and trades.
Overall very happy and satisfied with what I got, plus the fact I was way under budget- it's always a good feeling.
Y'all have a blessed weekend!

Day by day i was desperatly checking out the Lego store site for the release of the Lego Batman movie collective minifigures.
Once i saw them i rushed off to Belgium on a mission to grasp the ones i most desired. And when i got there i realized i arrived in the nick of time because they were almost all gone... Luckily i had my trusty sidekick with me and we emergered victorious with these minifigs... but only two minifigs yet remain to be missing from my ultimate goal. Shall i be able to complete my task?
Time will tell...
and my wallet of course...
