Tibetan Mastiff, Lolha on her walk this morning.

Goldie says, "Is there anything worse than when mom gets out of the car to take a picture and doesn't let you out?" 😟

"Have you ever seen such cruelty?"

My wiener dog, Goldie guarding a bone she had just buried at our campsite on North Star Lake in the Chippewa National Forest near Marcell, Minnesota.

Persian cat (Persian cat) is a long-haired cat breed distinguished by its round face and small mouth.

Its distribution to the world through Iran started with the arrival of the cats exported from Khorasan to Italy via Ankara by Pietro della Valle in the 1620s. In the same period, they were taken to France by Nicholas-Claude Fabri de Peiresc. They started to be seen in England after a short time.

The early "Persian cats" came from Iran with gray hair, while Persian cats in Ankara had white hair.

Although the history of the "Persian cat" still remains a mystery, Egyptian hieroglyphs mention a long-haired cat breed, which is thought to be the Persian cat. (The origin of all longhaired cat breeds is still a mystery.)

Genetic studies on recent "Persian cats" show that the genes of today's Iranian cats are linked to Eastern European cats, the "Persian cat", which is distributed from the Southeast, has lost its genetic signature over time.

One of my very favourite cat models (cover your ears Oscar!) - my son Jason's cat Chewie who was a bit disgruntled to find that he hadn't quite escaped the camera by hiding round the back of the shed!

Happy Caturday!

I am submitting this photo of Jimmy for this week's "The Look" theme.

Looking very alert and happy after her walk today [ Monday 16th January 2023 ] on Talsarnau.

Talsarnau or Talsamau is a village and community in the Ardudwy area of Gwynedd in Wales. Its population was 525 in 2001, and had increased to 550 at the 2011 Census. The village of Talsarnau is situated on the A496 coastal road between Maentwrog and Harlech, close to the hamlets of Eisingrug and Llandecwyn.

Sputnik means "travelling companion" - In fact this is the very first Sputnik V. - since my last name starts with a V. ;-)

I chose this for my Happy Caturday submission ("favorite parts"), because it highlights Jimmy's tail. It's my favorite part of Jimmy. He grooms it constantly so that it stays extra-fluffy.

Cali enjoying her walkies again in the sunshine on a lovely day.

Mr. Eliot continues to grow! I've owned/fostered many cats and I've never known one grow so quickly. He is about a year old now, so, hopefully he won't grow much more :).

I took a pan of hot water off of the burner (gas stove), to pour over the dirty dishes in the sink, and before I could turn off the flame Batman walked right over it! He singed some belly fur and a bit of tail, and, well, his whiskers....

Highland cow in Haut Jura, France.

The Highland is a traditional breed of rustic cattle, originated in the Scottish Highlands and the Western Islands of Scotland.

It is a hardy breed, able to withstand the intemperate conditions.

It has been another lovely spring day today. I had to work most of the day but when I returned home in the afternoon I spent some time with Fynn in the garden. Cleo slept indoors and Linus watched us from the terrace when he wasn't busy chasing bugs.

It's a rather dark, cloudy and cold day today and Fynn entertains himself watching the birds on the roof of the house next door. The roof window in my bedroom offers an excellent view. :)

This is not the usual Linus. He is rather hyperactive these days, noisy and quite chaotic. Pensive moments are rare and you have to make the best of them whenever they occur. :)

Cali's faces in a day !!!!

Our white German Shepherd 🐾

From a recent visit to meet my stepson's adorable new kitten....and I thought it was tricky catching dragonflies in a resting position!

My White German Shepherd,

Cali lives in Gwynedd, North Wales..................

He's standing in front of a stack of bowls holding some of the cats' leftover kibble from the last meal.

Archie enjoying the great outdoors, or the back garden to be more precise, of my new home in Ayrshire.

His territory is in for some radical change in the coming few weeks as I have some tall 'back saving' beds on the way so that I can start growing my own food once again. I have so missed the flavour and goodness of growing my own food.

Archie will be no good at keeping the birds away from the seed though, they chase him around!

Happy Caturday to you all!

Cali on Thursday Talsarnau walk earlier on today.

January Winter's day.

My precious baby girl, Goldie, having the time of her life on our late-April excursion through northern Minnesota.

Obviously this is Fynn's first contact with pumpkins and he is not really sure yet if he likes them ! But don't worry, Fynn, they are only for decoration ! You will not be turned into a vegetarian cat ! :)

Cali posing for the camera lens on our walk together to the estuary.

This is a capture from end of November. The last couple of days have been dull and cold, not really my kind of weather for taking photos. Fynn still spends a lot of time outdoors and keeps an eye on what's going on in the neighbourhood. When he returns home he reports the results of his investigations and I would be very well informed if only I could understand him.

...but, come on, look at that cute tongue. Maybe it works as a funny hat.

His "wings" are actually the ears of a line drawing of a cat's head (on a pillowcase). It was just sagging perfectly. I'll put a photo of the pillowcase in the comments.

This was a low-light situation, but I like this grouping of laser pointer enthusiasts. Muse is waiting for the light to hit the door; that's his favorite spot to jump high & "catch" the dot.

...for starting out the day.
