I am is a little tired of rains. I like to look through colorful pictures taken at different times. They give me hope that those rains won't last for ever.

I always find that when you're gifted with mist and a beautiful sunrise you very often spot details you would normally miss, spiders webs being one of those things.. amazed just how many there was on that morning....

A beautiful morning in the Derbyshire peak district with great friend Jon Sargisson this morning, although it seemed we were never quite in the right place at the right time, we did manage to capture some wonderful moody shots at Chatsworth, the mist never let us see the majestic house but it did provide the atmosphere y the river Derwent

So this is one of my favourite tree shots, taken at Blenheim Palace of all places. What a grand old tree, it looks so tree'ish!

A smashing dawn yesterday morning over Stanton by dale and the Trent valley created a fab sky over the golden field of spring rapeseed crops
Arrived at this location a little too early for the heather to be in bloom, but fortunately the sunset made the trip worthwhile.

One of my favourite locations, this time just after sunset. Some colours still in the clouds, reflected in the calm water. For once I had the lake to myself and was able to experience the calm and serenity of mountains and water. Next time I hope to go in winter when it will a totally different experience.
This is the road from Glasshouses to Dacre Banks, near Glasshouses Bridge in Nidderdale, North Yorkshire, England
Records about Glasshouses stretch as far back as 1386 and the name of the village is believed to have derived from the Old English Glas Hus, which translates as the place where glass was made. Whilst there is no firm evidence of this, it was believed that glass for Fountains Abbey was made here

I think this beautful swan wanted some breakfast , or just like having a picture taken , either way i was just happy it was there :)
A beautiful tree that I have long admired over the years when passing this spot but never tried to photograph until yesterday. It is in a very awkward location, surrounded by sheep pens, fences and walls - rather looking like a deliberate attempt to stop any photography of it from any angle. I only decided to try it as there suddenly appeared light on the mountain in the background, but composition was a problem as I wanted the tree 'separated' from the mountain - a struggle to do from behind a stone wall.
The three baby owls cuddled in a new little nest. They were walking from left to right and vice verse, and stretching wings in a confined space and trying to stay in the shade. It is lucky to have three of them looking in the same direction through the narrow nest opening.

The lone tree at Milarrochy. And Effie. With cloud free sunset over Loch Lomond, Scotland.
It's rather off the beaten track and a nightmare to get to at the moment with so many closed roads in the area, but I was determined to find my way back on a fine day before we leave this area. Because I doubt I will go back.
I rarely come across a lone tree and this one had a border for foreground interest.
Took several shots and liked this off-centre composition best.
It was an overcast day so made this b/w and added a suble texture in Topaz Studio.

Required reading when I was in Grade 9 (eons ago), was the 1943 novel A Tree Grows in Brooklyn by Betty Smith. And now, eons later, all I remember about the book is the title - but the metaphor for the novel is the Tree of Heaven, that has a persistent ability to grow and flourish even in the harshest of conditions - and that is certainly the case for this little hawthorn tree on an exposed hillside, overlooking the mighty Bla Bheinn, Isle of Skye.
Yet another update: This image has been picked by the judges in the Outdoor photographer of the year 2016 comp to appear in their latest OPOTY portfolio 2 book. I'm a very happy chappy
