Roxboro Road is one of those streets where you just know you're going to spot an ex-logo store. Sure enough we found an old Pizza Hut.

The roofline looks suspiciously like a Dairy Queen, but isn't it strange for them to take out part of the interior and add motorcycle parking??

Despite the Longhorn logo, this business is located in Oklahoma

An ex-KFC. I think this is in Hazen, Arkansas near I-40, but I can't find any corroborating evidence via Google Maps or Reference USA.

A less-common sighting of a newer model of Taco Bell re-used. I first spotted this when we traveled through Odessa in 2006, but it was dark so I jotted down the location just in case we'd have another opportunity to snap it.

Taco Bell moved out? Open an authentic Mexican place instead! Sign reads: El Pollo Regio Pollos Asados Al Carbon

I thought this had become an independent Italian place, but concluded that the sign I saw was for the adjacent building.

Another Taco Bell converted into a more authentic Mexican place. Redwood City, CA

You can see evidence of this building's past as a Burger King, and more recently, Cattleman's. Cattleman's shot: www.flickr.com/photos/vanherdehaage/2207965144/ The "watch your head" sign from the BK drive thru is still there.

This ex-KFC is essentially next door to the ex-Pizza Hut. Both are now selling used cars. Geotag is approximate.

Apparently was a Mexican place after Hardee's. Now vacant.

A former Pizza Hut in Corydon, Indiana

I photographed this a year ago when it was Lucy's. A commenter remarked that the specials there were cheap. Maybe so cheap that they couldn't stay in business? Originally a Rax.

Some guy (perhaps Doug?) asked me what I was doing while I was shooting this ex-Pizza Hut. Geotag is approximate.

Marietta, OH. I continue to be amazed at how many Subways are in old Taco Bells. My earlier sightings are here: www.flickr.com/photos/vanherdehaage/980271906/ and here: www.flickr.com/photos/vanherdehaage/3498948112/ . There's a new Taco Bell maybe two doors down from this location.

Former Minnie Pearl's Fried Chicken. Now Grecian Corner. (Thanks for the tip, Frank!)

An ex-Burger King, although I didn't know that until someone told me. Before it was Sakura Japanese, it had a run as Pig Pickins BBQ.

Now a Japanese restaurant.

This one is visible from I-85. I made the husband exit so I could get a picture.

After wachovia_138's comment I went to the Durham city directory. The 1980 directory lists this as a Sizzler.

Saw this and told Steve, "Stop! I must take a picture!" He was cool with that since we needed gas anyway.

Our ex-logo store hobby continued this year.

Once a Dairy Queen, now a healthy fast food place. BTW, their food is delicious!

After the three comments below, I checked old Durham city directories. The 1975 directory had this as a Ponderosa. In 1980 it was Jack's Steakhouse, and in 1985 it was Golden Corral.

Hannibal, MO. Now Gabriella's Mexican Food and Spirits. This place hugs the road so tightly that it was a challenge to get a picture.

We were hungry so we ate lunch here. The waitress asked us if we wanted menus, from which I assume that most of their customers are regulars. We did bring the average age down quite a bit.

The last time we checked in, this was a Greek restaurant called Pergamon. A Turkish restaurant took over, and naturally renamed it Bergama!

Another Pizza Hut converted to pawn shop. Duncan, OK.

Ex-McDonald's converted into a jewelry store

Sorry I couldn't get any closer. This is a very busy area for traffic. Ex-Hummer dealership, now selling other cars.

Construction Progress as of 2/10/2011.

Not sure, but this looks like an ex-McDonalds.

Even though I'm an avid ex-logo-store photographer, it was only by viewing other items in the Recycled Shack-A-Rama Pool that I realized that this random photo from a previous vacation might be an ex-A&W. Is it?

Hmmm, think maybe this was once a Holiday Inn?

Mountain Fried Chicken: Home of the Original "Winston Wings"

Kudos to Elizabeth for spotting this one!

Includes unnecessary quotation marks.

We got off at an exit that had a "gas" symbol but nothing more specific. After about a mile, we decided we weren't going to find the alleged gas station so Steve turns left to turn around. Because of traffic and the banked land, we didn't notice until we were already in the parking lot that this is an ex-Pizza Hut. Now known as Rey Azteca Mexican Cuisine.

I'm skeptical about how fine your Thai Cuisine could be if you're located in an ex-Taco Bell. A crew was working on renovations when I took this photo.
